King the Land Overview

King the Land (킹더랜드) is a rom-com Kdrama that brings the story of an heir and an employee who works at one of the hotels owned by his family. Directed by Im Hyun-wook, the drama stars Lee Jun-ho, Lim Yoon-a (Yoona), Go Won-hee, Kim Ga-eun, Ahn Se-ha, and Kim Jae-won, alongside other cast members.

The drama brings the story of the heir Goo Won who has been thrown into an inheritance war, and the happy Cheon Sa-rang, whose smile moves him like no other. As the two begin to spend more time together, a beautiful love begins to bloom in their story.

Lee Jun-ho was last seen on The Red Sleeve as Yi San / King Jeongjo, while Yoona played audience-favourite Go Mi-ho in 2022’s hugely popular Big MouthKing the Land takes over the jTBC’s Saturday-Sunday 22:30 PM KST time slot previously occupied by Doctor Cha.

Netflix’s synopsis of the show reads: “Amid a tense inheritance fight, a charming heir clashes with his hardworking employee who’s known for her irresistible smile — which he cannot stand.”

Sa-rang is shocked by what she has witnessed and needs some time away from Gu Won. Meanwhile, Il-hoon finds out about the matter between the two and asks Gu Won to leave Sa-rang. Finally, it is the meeting that decides the fate of King Hotel and Gu Won is ready to fight.

Elsewhere, Sa-rang is asked to continue in the Dream Team where she now has to serve a special guest. Later, she tells Gu Won that she will make the choice for her future, but what is it going to be? Will she give up on love or will she fight to be with the one who has made her happy?

King the Land Episode 12 Recap

Sa-rang and Gu Won’s secret is out and so is the real identity of the latter which shocks everyone in the Thailand trip group. The next day, everyone at the hotel is happy with the response the celebration has brought them, but Hwa-ran is not happy and soon brings the executives on her side.

Gu Il-hoon understands what his daughter has done and openly begins a battle between Hwa-ran and Gu Won who now need to come up with a 10-year plan for the hotel. Later, strife begins between the two when Hwa-ran tries to fire Sa-rang because of a guest and Gu Won saves her.

The next day, Sa-rang gets information about Gu Won’s mother from an old employee and brings it to Gu Won for him to see. Following this, Sa-rang is given the opportunity to be part of King Hotel’s dream team, but this opportunity turns into a curse when Sa-rang sees Gu Won seated in the private gathering.

The next shock comes to Sa-rang when Il-hoon talks about Gu Won’s marriage and shows Sa-rang the mirror of truth.
