King the Land Episode 1 Reactions: Lee Jun-ho and Yoona’s Chaotic Meet-Cute Brews Up Classic Rom-Com Nostalgia

If Lee Jun-ho and Lim Yoon-a’s (Yoona) first encounter was deemed to be chaotic, then their second “poopy” meet-cute may have left you speechless, just the premiere has left audiences laughing their heart out in the King the Land episode 1 reactions on Twitter. The latest weekend South Korean drama airing on JTBC directed by Im Hyun-wook, also stars Go Won-hee, Kim Ga-eun, Ahn Se-ha, and Kim Jae-won in addition to the others. Its premiere on June 17, 2023, took netizens back to the glorious feel good days of the 90s-2000s romantic comedy flicks that always worked as an efficient remedy for those watching to take their minds off all kinds of stress in their lives and whatnot.

Although King the Land‘s (킹더랜드) first episode encountered some flabbergasted responses from K-netz (Korean netizens) about the inaccuracy of the profession of a hotelier portrayed therein. Even though some K-netizens seemed to have been displeased by the “early 00’s clicked rom-com” trajectory opted by the romance K-drama, other international audiences were hooked to the premiere and were pleased to find out that the latest show was leading with an uncomplicated route that allowed for a light-hearted laughter session.

The reactions linked below also refer to how people found comfort with Episode 1, and were already planning to either continue watching the show on a weekly basis or wait it out till the season was wrapped up so they could indulge in a binge watch session altogether. A lot of K-dramas in the recent times have pursued a solemn and serious path, or simply made the viewers cry hard, but this one seems to have become people’s island where they can head off to when wanting to kick back and relax.

Notably, responses on these two extreme ends were also countered by those that stated netizens standing in the middle instead. Since it’s just the beginning, they’re planning to give the new title a go as they haven’t necessarily found it a bad start. The ensemble cast is a rather overt highlight of the show, which initially dragged the viewers to watch it in the first place. And so, the leading pair’s panache has already become an addictive takeaway.

Jun-ho’s rather “Batman-themed” opulent lifestyle had Twitter users wanting more and his comedic chemistry with Yoona seemed to have returned victorious on the first ride back itself. Their encounters were particularly what caught the viewers’ eye and had them holding on to their chests as their laughed out loud. The one thing that has made itself clear from the get go is that, if you’re a major enthusiast of the early rom-coms, that served us with a on-the-face, cliched plot, but feel-good content on top, then this K-drama title should be on your watchlist now.
