Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is the upcoming psychological horror-comedy directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar. The film’s anticipation has created quite the buzz and, after a long delay due to the COVID 19 pandemic with its release date, which was initially supposed to be back in July 2020, the film is close to hitting the theatres now.
At Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s trailer launch event, the star cast of this new film greet fans and, answered a couple of interesting questions. Kiara Advani, who stars opposite Kartik Aaryan in the film in the role of Vidya Balan’s iconic Manjulika talked about the predecessors who has set the standards for the film high as well as her take on the role. The Kabir Singh actor talked about how filling in the shoes of Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, from the original film is not only impossible but, also that the new cast is not attempting to do so, but rather give their own take on the latest film.
Actor Kiara Advani said, “What they [Akshya Kumar and Vidya Balan] done, those shoes are too big to fill in. We are not even attempting to fill in those shoes. We’re just trying to do our work, the best we can. And, this is a franchise, this is not a remake, so I am not playing that character. Yes, there is a Manjulika. I cannot give away the suspense of the film but, I think they were the inspiration and, we’ve tried to do our best at these characters sir has written for us.”
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 also stars Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Amar Upadhyay, Sanjay Mishra, Milind Gunaji, Karmveer Choudhary and Rajesh Sharma alongside Advani and Aaryan. The film is set to release on May 20, 2022 in theatres near you.
