Kartik Aaryan on Challenges While Filming Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Thoughts During the Pandemic

After 2 years, Kartik Aaryan is all set to appear on the big screen with his film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The film is directed by Anees Bazmee and stars Tabu, Kiara Advani, Sanjay Mishra and Rajpal Yadav. BB2 is a sequel to Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan’s 2007 psychological thriller, Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The trailer and title track of the new film were released a few days ago.

After Love Aaj Kal, BB2 is Kartik’s first release on the big screen since the pandemic started. Last year, his Netflix thriller Dhamaka was released and received an immense response. In a media interaction, Leisurebyte asked Aaryan what was going on in his mind in these 2 years about the film where everything was uncertain. The actor shared, “At that time, our main concern was to complete the film. Due to the first, second and third wave, we had to keep matching everyone’s dates. The filming started before the pandemic in February end. After 20 days of filming, we returned from Lucknow in mid-March when the lockdown happened. After that, it was just a waiting game.”

Kartik Aaryan added, “During that time, I was worried about what the producers and writers will think. But Anees sir was confident about the film, and we all were. When the pandemic happened the first time, everyone was involved in lockdown, and everything else was secondary to everyone. But the way the film has turned out to be, we were excited then and even now.”

Further, Kartik was asked what challenges he faced while filming Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The actor stated that shooting for the climax was quite an experience. He shared, “The film’s climax was quite challenging to shoot. I can’t reveal everything. But my voice had become hoarse while filming it. I had to take a break for some time. It was very hectic.”

“There were almost 300 shots in one scene, and I’ve seen many shots used before in my film. It was an extensive climax to shoot. At that time, we shot for 48 hours. I had to be in that zone. It was a tiring process and something new for me to learn. I was really happy about it,” stated the actor.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will release in theatres on May 20, 2022.
