Kaiju No 8 Episode 7 Review was frustratingly good. Let us see how the 7th episode of this brand-new series went.
Kaiju No 8 Episode 6 Recap
In this intense episode, a looming danger threatens the city, prompting a swift and coordinated response from the Defense Forces. Working closely with the JDSF and the Japanese police, they focus on evacuating civilians and preparing to confront the newly discovered Honju. Initially appearing at the Kannawa Fault, the Honju has since grown larger and has now emerged with a frightening new goal: breeding.

The Defense Forces devise a strategy to lure the Honju away from residential areas, aiming to keep it within their attack range for Captain Mina to neutralize. As the operation unfolds, the new recruits are transported to the front lines for their first real combat experience. Among them is Kafka, who is both anxious and excited about the mission. Despite his usual comedic and unpredictable behavior at the start, Kafka quickly adapts, seeking to contribute in his own way.
Aware of his limitations in strength, Kafka wisely avoids rushing headlong into battle, understanding that such recklessness could jeopardize not only his life but also his comrades’. Instead, he leverages his extensive knowledge of Kaiju, analyzing the situation and their adversary to find effective ways to assist. His expertise proves invaluable for Mina to take the Yoju down.

Kaiju No 8 Episode 7 Review And Recap
This episode picks up right from the part where we saw the humanoid Kaiju encountering Reno and Iharu. He wastes no time in shedding his human facade and attacks the two soldiers in an attempt to get a sample of humans to bring back home.
Though Reno and Iharu try to be quick on their feet by analyzing the situation, they are helpless against the monster. Both of them get shot mercilessly, and finally, they realize how big of trouble they are facing in front of them. Reno also tries to contact Captain Hoshina but discovers that the humanoid Kaiju has blocked all the communication channels. With this move, the Kaiju proves just how fast he learns and adapts to his situation. Throughout the confrontation between him and the humans, he has been learning things patiently and making a note of it. It also appears he is interested in understanding humans to kill them properly.

In the beginning, Reno tells Iharu to save himself and call for backup while Reno will be fighting the Kaiju alone. However, Iharu completely disregards this advice as he cannot leave his friend alone to fend for himself. Iharu also starts to admire Reno’s courage and sees him in a new light because he tries his best to defeat the enemy in front of them. He finally accepts that Reno has the talent to become a captain someday, and hence, concludes that he must protect Reno.
Thus, with newfound vigor and a strategy in their minds, they both use every means to annihilate the humanoid. But things are not that simple, and their bodies are not that healthy after getting shot so many times. Today’s episode was very thrilling as you do not know what might happen to our beloved characters. You do anticipate the arrival of Kafka, but at the same time, when he does make his entry like the hero he is, you cheer for him.

Verdict
This episode also really pissed me off for a good reason, as the outcome of the battle is frustrating. What is even more migraine-inducing is how our hero just cannot catch a break. He is not only an enemy to Kaijus but also to humans and it is a battle for him just to survive.
All in all, today’s episode is pretty good as it keeps you at the edge of your seat with all the twists and turns. You are thoroughly entertained till the end and end up begging for the next episode because of the cliffhanger.
