Kaiju No 8 Episode 6 Review: A new action, Sci-Fi anime is here, and we are absolutely thrilled about it. Let us see how the sixth episode of this brand-new series went.
Kaiju No 8 Overview

Kaiju No. 8 stands out as a remarkable manga by the skilled Matsumoto Naoya. Taking the role for the anime adaptation are directors Miya Shigeyuki and Kamiya Tomomi, while scriptwriting duties and series composition fall under the capable hands of Ookouchi Ichirou. Gou Fumiyuki, known for his work on titles like Blue Lock, Mieruko-chan, and Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo, assumes the role of music director. Bringing the visuals to life is Production I.G, renowned for their work on series such as Haikyuu!! and Kuroko no Basket.
In terms of the songs, the opening theme “Abyss” is performed by YUNGBLUD, adding a distinctive energy to the series. Meanwhile, the closing theme “Nobody” comes from OneRepublic, perfectly complementing the anime. Episode 6 of Kaiju No. 8 can also be called the 6th episode of Kaijuu 8-gou (怪獣8号).
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Kaiju No 8 Episode 6 Review: Kafka Is More Useful Than Anyone

Things are getting heated in this episode as we see a new threat approaching the city, and the Defense Forces are up for the challenge. They are working in tandem with JDSF and the Japanese police forces to evacuate the civilians as soon as possible and prepare to take down the newly discovered Honju that first appeared at the Kannawa Fault and then moved while growing larger. Now, it has suddenly emerged as it wants to start breeding.
The Defense Forces plan to lure it away from the residential area and keep it within their range so that Captain Mina can finish it off. The only thing remaining right now is the transportation of the new recruits to the original place so that they can have their first taste of actual battle. Everyone is scared about this entire operation, especially Kafka, but at the same time, he is thrilled as well. While he does start the mission with his usual funny and unpredictable antics, Kafka settles into his role and tries to be useful in a different way.

He knows that he is not as strong as others, and if he tries to rush into the battle, not only will he endanger his life, but also his colleagues. This is why Kafka studies his situation and the Kaiju they are dealing with. This is a very good approach for him, as there is no one better than Kafka who knows a Kaiju from the inside out.
This episode was interesting and showed us just how powerful Mina is compared to others. She easily manages to draw more than 90% of the suit’s power and utilise it without blinking an eye. Kafka also realises how far behind he is from her and how difficult it will be to get on her level. Even though he is technically more powerful than any other human, he is in a position where he cannot use his actual power to defeat the enemy.

We also see an interesting side of vice-captain Hoshina who is skilled with swords. Other than this, there is a twist towards the end that promises a very deadly next episode.
Verdict
I love this episode and as usual, would have preferred a bit more content here. The only negative aspect is that we will have to wait another week to know about the fate of some soldiers who accidentally walk into a deadly trap.
