Kaiju No. 8 is an exceptional manga, written by the talented author Matsumoto Naoya.
The anime series will be directed by Miya Shigeyuki and Kamiya Tomomi and the script along with the series composition will be looked after by Ookouchi Ichirou.
Gou Fumiyuki is the music director who has previously worked on Blue Lock, Mieruko-chan, Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo, etc. The animation will be handled by Production I.G, famous for Haikyuu!!, Kuroko no Basket, etc.
The anime series features “Abyss” performed by YUNGBLUD, as its opening theme song. The ending theme song is “Nobody” by OneRepublic.

For years, Japan has grappled with the menace of grotesque kaijuu, monstrous creatures reminiscent of Godzilla. The Defense Corps, an elite military unit, valiantly battles these beasts to safeguard civilians. After each confrontation, the aftermath falls upon the shoulders of sweepers, employees of the Professional Kaijuu Cleaner Corporation, tasked with disposing of the remnants.
Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old sweeper, finds himself disillusioned with his role. Despite harbouring childhood aspirations of joining the Defense Corps to combat kaijuu, repeated failures have led him to settle for the mundane security of his job. However, the arrival of Leno Ichikawa, a youthful and ambitious recruit, reignites Kafka’s dormant desire for military service.
Through a series of fateful events and an encounter with his young colleague, Kafka becomes host to a parasitic kaijuu, transforming into a humanoid monster. Empowered by this unexpected twist of fate, Kafka embarks on a quest to realize his lifelong dream of joining the Defense Corps, once and for all.

The story revolves around Kafka Hibino, a man who aspires to join the Defense Corps to fight against kaijuu, monstrous creatures threatening humanity. Kafka Hibino takes centre stage as the protagonist. A 32-year-old sweeper by profession, Kafka harbours a deep-seated aspiration to enlist in the Defense Corps.
Mina Ashiro, Kafka’s childhood friend, holds a prominent position as a captain within the Defense Force. She serves as both a trusted ally and a source of support for Kafka as he pursues his dreams.

The exam arc concludes with Kikoru effortlessly defeating Kaijus and Kafka trying to help, despite his injuries, aided by his loyal friend Ichikawa. However, a sudden twist shifts Kikoru from hunter to prey. The episode hints at a connection between Kafka’s parasite and a newly introduced creature, while the anime’s excellent sound design heightens the epic feel of the action.
