Kaiju No 8 Episode 10 was just great in its storytelling and execution. Let’s take a closer look at the details of the 10th episode of this new series.
Kaiju No 8 Episode 9 Recap
This episode kicks off with Captain Hoshina reflecting on recent events, particularly the curious human-like behavior of Kaiju No. 8 and Kaiju No. 9. He, like us, ponders the reasons behind these mutations. Meanwhile, Kafka takes a moment to relax on the terrace, contemplating his responsibilities. As he heads to his quarters, he encounters a significant new threat.

Kafka witnesses a barrage of new Kaiju descending on the base like meteor showers. These Kaiju, unusually working together, aim to destroy the Defense Force’s base. Kafka quickly realizes something is amiss when he sees typically solitary Kaiju attacking in unison. This coordinated assault is orchestrated by a powerful Daikaiju, which targets Captain Hoshina, recognizing him as the strongest human present.
While Hoshina engages the Daikaiju, the other soldiers struggle until Kikoru arrives with a surprise. She dominates the battlefield, proving herself as the third most powerful human in their base. Together with Reno, she helps to quell the chaos.
The episode’s highlight is undoubtedly the intense battle between Captain Hoshina and the new Kaiju. The fight’s outcome was however surprising as the Kaiju evolved into something new.

Kaiju No 8 Episode 10 Review And Recap
Today’s episode was hands down the best of this season, and I do not think anything can peak this. Here, we start from the part where Vice Captain Hoshina is trying to battle the newly evolved Kaiju that has gotten way bigger than what he can handle. We have seen him use two short Katanas with which he can make slashes and lethal stabs.
But we must keep in mind, that this kind of power becomes useless against a monster that is too big to get stabbed. Thus, after the Kaiju reshapes itself, we see Hoshina struggling against this new opponent vehemently. Amidst that, we also see some snippets of his childhood where Hoshina is shown to be told how his art of using swords is not enough for him to be in the Defence Force.
All his life, he has heard these remarks, and even then, he did not lose faith and kept on trying and training to become who he is today. The only person who actually believed in him was his captain, Mina, which is also why he respects her so much.

However, it is apparent that this opponent is not a good fit for him, and Kafka almost reveals himself just to protect his Vice Captain. Thankfully, that did not happen, as the Captain finally saved the day with her immense power and perfect aim. Alas, things could have ended well if this was the case.
Sadly, the last event that takes place shocks the viewers to the core and ends the episode on a wildly interesting note. As usual, the animation was really good for this episode. The music is also used very nicely, and it properly compliments whatever is happening on the screen. This episode also did not feel like it skipped on plot, and by the time it ended, you are satisfied, yet remain in anticipation of the next episode.

Verdict
I absolutely loved this episode, and it definitely made Kaiju No. 8 one of my favorites this season. It is very sad to think that we will only get two more episodes, after which we will have to wait for a second season.
