The Kaalkoot teaser has dropped making our eyes pop and head scratch, giving away almost nothing yet tempting us to indulge ourselves in this storyline that has undertones of comedy, drama and mystery. The teaser is a short one but, does not shy away from leaving an impact strong enough that makes you wonder what this film is going to be about.
The upcoming release is presented to us by Viacom 18 Studios and directed by Doctor G and Hamid’s Sumit Saxena. It is produced by Ajit Andhare, Amirtpal Singh Bhadra and Anand Tiwari. The cast for this series is an impressive one. Vijay Varma and Shweta Tripathi are leading this drama and it will be the duo’s second project together after Mirzapur.
The Kaalkoot teaser is edited brilliantly telling us only enough to get us invested. We meet Varma’s character, who is a newly appointed police officer- it has been only three months since he joined his post and is struggling, clearly. But that is not the only struggle he has in his life because the man is of age and his mother is begging him to get married. She sends him pictures of women, which we see in Varma’s character store and finds no luck in real life with the female populace.
Until the teaser music intensifies and we see a clear change in Vijay Varma going from being helpless to badass. How or why this transition happens is not revealed to us but what is, is the story of an acid attack and Varma investigating the case as we see Shweta Tripathi’s picture being dropped at the end, hinting her to be the unfortunate woman involved.
The Kaalkoot teaser leaves an eccentric mark as it promises to be a drama that is exploratory in nature and has a suspenseful undertone to it. It will be interesting to see the themes it is going to explore but, we are calling the entire vibe of this show satirical for now.
