Jump MV: P1Harmony Drop Their Burdens and Fly High Into Outer Space With an Upbeat Hip-Hop Tune

Wrapping up their Harmony album series, P1Harmony revealed their Jump MV on June 8, 2023, 6PM KST, along with their sixth mini album HARMONY : ALL IN. As the video opens with the members jamming to their music, a new world of opportunities opens up for them.

Throughout the 3 minute-long video, they urge the listeners and watchers to dance as the “moments we enjoy are party”. From the get go, such lyrics and the overall tune of the song convey the message of letting loose and enjoying the moments we have at hand. With hip-hop beats ruling the track’s sound, the alternative pop track emerges as an offbeat dance anthem. The next message to follow is when one of the members advises the listeners to drop all the burdens on their shoulders.

The visuals switch from a homely setup to a dance club initially, and soon the chorus drop a heavy bass sound as the hook constantly pushes us to Jump. With more goofy sights that shrink the members’ size on to the music station, the sextet keeps encouraging the viewers to take a chance and not hesitate to find their own rhythm along the way.

Their idea of reaching high to the sky takes an unexpected flight, and eventually we find the members – Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul, and Jongseob – in outer space, floating in their own protective bubbles. Those boundaries are created to keep out all those “friends who don’t know how to play”. The ultimate goal P1Harmony seeks to achieve through his leading track is to articulate and spread the message of living in and enjoying the present moment, much like what the YOLO mindset foregrounds.

Other songs included on their sixth EP are – Love Me For Me, New Classic, More Than Words, Heartbeat Drum and I Am You. The South Korean sextet was formed and managed by FNC Entertainment in 2020, and their concept since then (as also implied by their group name) has been to set aside infinite possibilities for harmonies as each of them comes together to form one tight unit. Pushing each other towards harmony, the group first began the eponymous album trilogy in 2022 with Harmony: Zero In, which was followed by Harmony: Set In in the same year.

The overall Harmony trilogy portrays the image of strong friendships that hold the members together. Putting across the same message of unity in their fifth EP’s title track Back Down, the members have carried forth the idea in Jump as well that sees them take a leap of faith together while relishing in their shared moments together.

The official Jump music video on FNC Ent’s YouTube Channel comes along with a long caption expounding the album’s meaning and details, and it leaves us with the final words, “This album will be a high quality album that will make you realize that P1Harmony is also an indispensable group like water.”
