Jinny’s Kitchen Season 2 Episode 1 Review
The episode started with the former team reuniting and awaiting their newbie participant. Woo-shik wishes to have a younger person so he can finally get rid of being the “maknae” (the youngest). Right then, actress Min-si, well known for her roles in Sweet Home, The Witch enters the room, surprising everyone, especially Woo-shik, given they starred together. The conversation builds well-off and everyone immediately clicks well with Min-si. Then the producer announces their location as Iceland, surprising and exciting everyone.

The team as usual prepares their three main dishes and practises cooking with a skilled chef. Then the team moves to Iceland where they set up their restaurant in Reykjavik, the capital city. The crew settles in and later goes to a nearby restaurant only to get startled by the prices of each dish. After a good meal, they further discuss the titles of chefs, the plans and certain ideas. The team goes grocery shopping to stock up on items.
The team start with their trial day where they prepare the ingredients and treat the production team to test their output. Thanks to the test day, certain loopholes are found and the team plans in advance to fill those. Apart from the cooking business, all five of them have insane chemistry which is a joy to watch. Woo-shik, as usual, is goofy and witty making the people around him cackle every minute. With Min-si now on the team, her presence is adding more charm to the show.

Yu-mi and Seo-joon, are excellent in cooking and their talent oozes in the episode. Seo-joon is a heartthrob indeed, and his cooking skill is a plus one. The show’s boss, Seo-jin can never be replaced because he is the right person to get along with young people as well as manage the restaurant with might. His leadership skills are on point and he seems like a fun guy as well. The team wrap their trial day and prepares for the real sellout.
The following day, Woo-shik is chosen as the head chef and the preparations begin. With laughter and chatter, the team enjoys preparing the ingredients. However, their happiness soon becomes a nightmare when large groups of customers get in, proving to them that they’re going to be working a lot. Like a lot. Apparently, the restaurant has already started garnering attention that there were customers waiting the previous day as well. But since it was closed, 11 groups of customers moved on.

Now that, Jinny’s restaurant is open, many customers quickly come in making the team kickstart their business. Will they succeed in wrapping day 1 excellently or will they panic due to the new type of customers? Will their Korean dishes be spot on as more customers come or will they flop at making the right food? Will there be enough groceries to cover the unexpected guests or will they leave out customers empty-handed? All the questions will be answered in the next episode.
Jinny’s Kitchen 2 is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
