Ji Chang-wook and EXO’s DO in Talks to Star in Upcoming Revenge K-drama Together!

South Korean heartthrob Ji Chang-wook has no plans of slowing down when it comes to pedalling hard to appease his fans. Last seen in the Disney+ action drama series, The Worst of Evil, with Wi Ha-joon, the ’87 born actor finally made his comeback to the action genre despite swearing to step away from it. The results for the same have been notably earth-shaking as his fans came to love his onscreen chemistry with Ha-joon, even though their characters’ friendship may not have found its way to fruition at the end of their shared project.

Already having secured the headlining spot in the December 2023 slice-of-life romantic comedy series, Welcome to Samdalri, alongside Shin Hye-sun, The Worst of Evil actor is now also in talks to join forces with the K-pop idol/ actor EXO’s DO aka Doh Kyung-soo. While not much has been let on to the audience as of yet, the upcoming series has consolidated its strong hold over Hallyu enthusiasts due to the big-scale promises put forth by the said title, and all the names involved in its making. What We Know About the Ji Chang-wook and EXO DO Kdrama Project So Far

Both Chang-wook and Kyung-soo have reportedly been confirmed to star in the forthcoming revenge drama series, so far being referred to as the Sculpture City Kdrama. On November 13, 2023, a South Korean media outlet shared the news for this large-scale project with production costs amounting to 35 billion won. The South Korean entertainment company, CJ ENM, will be investing in this series that’s expected to start filming in 2024. Taxi Driver writer Oh Sang-ho has been roped in to write this show as well, whereas Kim Chang-joo will be helming the directorial lead.

While director Kim Chang-joo and Ji Chang-wook have previously collaborated for the former’s 2021 action thriller film, Hard Hit, this will be the first time for the audiences to catch Doh Kyung-soo and Chang-wook together in the same frame for a filmed project. Fans are already anticipating a captivating bromance saga, especially with the twisted revenge-driven plot of the series convoluting everything.

The upcoming Korean drama will mark Kyung-soo’s return as an onscreen antagonist as he will be taking on the role of an architect, who instead of taking an interest in building homes for people is more swayed by the idea of turning their lives into hell. On the other hand, Chang-wook will be taking the lead as the unfortunate protagonist whose life has been moulded into a hell due to others’ manipulations. He eventually embarks on a dark journey to exact revenge on them for what he’s been put through.
