Island of the Sea Wolves Review Does Not Contain Spoilers –

Island of the Sea Wolves is an extraordinary story of one pregnant wolf ousted by her pack, living in the dangerous wilds of the Vancouver Islands. Cedar’s story is inspiring and exhilarating, exudes beauty and hope and teaches us the trials and tribulations of life.

However, just like how nature-based documentary series, this one doesn’t just focus on the wolves trying to find food in the freezing waters of the sea; it also focuses on the other animals and birds in and around the sea.

Island of the Sea Wolves 1

Island of the Sea Wolves focuses just as much on flora and fauna of the area as it does on the island itself. The beautiful blue waters are just as much a part of the amusement and beauty as are its inhabitants. The lush greens or the icy and harsh mountains, and the changing weather makes the watch rather satisfying and sometimes perilous.

Honestly, you can’t really go wrong with documentaries like these since it’s always interesting to watch wildlife living their normal lives. Their normal, however, is far more than what most of us Netflix dwellers get to witness in our everyday lives, so it’s always a rather interesting and shocking time!

Regardless, watching cute sea otters taking care of their fur and their babies and eating clams is just so cute – Skye and Rocky will win your hearts with their shenanigans.

The most amazing part about nature documentaries as a whole, and this one, in particular, is how the show tells us the connection among these different species on and around the island. Although most stay away from each other, there’s still one way or another in which they connect with each other and create a wonderful synergy that helps everyone in the long run.

Nature truly is a wonderful thing – and, for example, the sea lions and eagles (not really) working together so that both of them get something to eat is an amazing watch, truly. The music, too, adds to the beauty of these scenes. You feel the palpable tension during an intense chase between predators and prey, and Will Arnett’s deep, husky voice is an added bonus – this is serious business.

Summing Up: Island of the Sea Wolves

Focusing on the inhabitants of Vancouver Island, Island of the Sea Wolves is a beautiful and oftentimes very dangerous look at the cutthroat competition in the wild to stay alive. It’s a beautiful, enchanting and humbling experience, one that will keep you entertained for three episodes.
