Ishq Next Door Episode 7 Review: The new JioCinema original series directed by Akhilesh Vats, follows the life of a young man catching feelings for the girl next door. The series’ main cast includes Abhay Mahajan as Dev, Natasha Bharadwaj as Meher, Purav Jha as Chuttan, Mrinal Dutt as Ashwin, Gopi Desai as Dev’s mother, and other actors. Each episode from the 10-part series will be released daily, and the runtime of the episodes will be approximately 20 minutes.

Ishq Next Door Episode 7 Recap
When Dev paints his house’s balcony, Chuttan doesn’t notice his brother on the ladder and so he tries to carry it away. This causes Dev to slip and fall down. Meher who walks by finds Dev on the ground and helps him to get inside the home. Dev’s mother assists them and yells at Chuttan for causing his brother’s injury.
When Dev plans to go to work by cab, Meher asks him to take a leave. Dev instantly abides her and asks his colleague Ms. Ruchi to send Mr. Mahesh with the unapproved documents to his home. Dev’s mother calls Chuttan to the kitchen and asks him about Meher and Dev. Chuttan says that there is nothing going on between them.
In the room, Dev tries to tell Meher about his cancelled marriage but gets interrupted by Chuttan. The three then happily watch a movie. Right then, Ms. Ruchi comes in with the documents along with Ashwin. Ruchi states that she called Ashwin so that he can sign the documents but Dev says that he has already received the signature. Ashwin takes Meher alone and tells her that she’s being clingy despite knowing about Dev’s marriage.
Then, Ruchi asks Ashwin to drop her at the metro and they both leave. When Meher was about to leave, Dev’s mother calls her to the kitchen and asks her to open a tin. Dev’s mother then shares with her that Dev has cancelled the marriage and asks Meher whether she knows any girl that Dev has an interest in. An excited Meher leaves after telling that she will give a tip if she finds one. Dev’s mom closes the tin, smiling at the thought of Meher and Dev.

Dev has a little conversation with Chuttan and he advises Dev to confess his feelings. Chuttan then receives a phone call from an unknown number and picks it up. Surprisingly it is Meher and he passes the phone to Dev (as Dev’s phone wasn’t reachable she calls Chuttan). Meher asks Dev regarding his leg and he tells her that it’s quite alright. She asks him to get his scooter keys so they could go for a ride.
Dev and Meher go for a drive and the latter tells that she brought him out since he stated earlier that if he sits idle, he’ll get bored. During their conversation, Dev confesses that he likes Meher and states that he knows she and Ashwin are together. Meher tells him that she has moved on from Ashwin. She teases him saying that she will take time to give her answer to his confession as he was ignoring her due to Ashwin.
Dev and Meher return back home and they plan out for a date. Ashwin catches Dev and confronts him to stay away from Meher. The two get into an argument and Dev tells him that he and Meher are going out on a date and that he should move on.
Ishq Next Door Episode 7 Review
I thought that Dev and Meher will join towards the end but seems like the creators wanted them to date sooner so that Ashwin can start meddling with them both. As usual, episode 7 has its hilarious moments and the romance aspect is present. Meher and Dev’s chemistry is really good, so kudos to the casting team.
A frame from this episode that I noticed and found amazing is Meher and Dev on the scooter. In most of the episodes, we can see them both developing feelings when they’re riding the scooter together. Just like love over a cup of coffee, Dev and Meher are examples of love over a two-way scooter ride.
The episodes aren’t predictable and it is a win for the team. Now that Dev and Meher have officially started their relationship, of course, it isn’t going to go smoothly. Hopefully, Ashwin will move on and probably fall in love with Ruchi since she is interested in him. So far the series has kept its plot neat and entertaining.
