With Edgar Ramirez’s latest Netflix series wrapping up its case on the same day as its premiere, we’re now circling the possibility of a Florida Man Season 2. Created by Donald Todd, who joins as one of the four executive producers beside Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, and Miguel Arteta, the comedy crime drama also stars Anthony LaPaglia, Abbey Lee, Otmara Marrero, Lex Scott Davis, Emory Cohen, Clark Gregg and others.
All through its 7 episodes, the series pushes Ramirez’s character, Mike Valentine, back to his home state, Florida, on a mission to bring back a mobster’s runaway girlfriend. Soon, the whole thing turns on its head, and he’s presented with the opportunity to make it big with a possible golden treasure lurking in the Sunshine State’s darkness.
The first season wrapped up with a twist that Mike never saw coming. However, it ends well, and he attains his much-desired happy ending. This brings us to the next question surrounding any OTT release – Will he and the rest of the team return for a second round? Let’s consider the options.
Will There Be a Florida Man Season 2 on Netflix?
Despite the title saying so, the Netflix series, ironically shot in North Carolina instead of Florida, was packaged as a ‘limited series’ deal. Moreover, as opposed to its present reality, in April 2021, it was revealed that the show was supposed to have 8 episodes in its first season but was eventually shaved down to sporting only 7.
Filming for the same was also delayed back then, which ultimately led to the release date being pushed back. There is no official update on the series being renewed for another season. Even the story has been sorted out, delivering a desirable ending for the leading pair of Ramirez’s Mike and Lee’s Delly. Mike’s even worked out his relationship with his family in Florida, but the one shared between him and his father (LaPaglia) remains as ambiguous and grey as ever.

If the show is picked up for another run, the story could focus on their dynamic again, which remained one of this season’s brightest highlights. However, some things are better left unsaid and untouched. It seems as if the creator deliberately fleshed out their ties like so to bring a life-like taste to their father-son dynamic.
Therefore, the officials have not released any announcement related to the show’s renewal. Chances for the same remain bleak as well, but if anything of the sort comes up later on, we will surely update our readers about it.
Florida Man is now streaming on Netflix.
