Insomniacs After School Episode 6 Review- Shooting Star

Ganta Yui Insomniacs After School Episode 6

Do you have friends? Of course, you do. It is a very silly question to ask. However, it is an important one in the context of this episode. Sure, you have friends. I have friends. Most people in the world do, even though the levels of closeness between your friends and mine would differ. Could you imagine a life without them, though? Could you imagine living while believing that most people found you a nuisance and would abandon you in a heartbeat? Because that is how Ganta lived before he met Isaki.

Ganta is a super interesting protagonist because of the fact that he isn’t very popular. It is not like people try and avoid him or scrunch their notes when he walks by. They just think that he is a little too tightly wound and arrogant for who he is. They never got a chance to correct this thought process, and Ganta never bothered to tell them otherwise. He liked things the way they were, where people paid as little attention to him as possible. This didn’t help with his mental condition, as things were already bad at home, and the poor guy developed insomnia.

Magaro Nono Insomniacs After School Episode 6

When Ganta does things in Insomniacs After School Episode 6, like doing a boatload of research into the club, trying to get everything done on his own, and then proceeding to go and beg anyone who would listen for help with the meteor shower, you know why he’s doing it. You understand him very well even if you might not like him very well. I love how his and Magari’s relationship has been displayed so far because it has been one of mutual understanding born out of the duo’s shared sleep disorder.

The more time we spend with Ganta, the more fascinated I become by him and the way he is written. Time and time again, he goes and proves that he can be an absolute gem when he tries and isn’t bothered by a lack of sleep. He went around talking to people he didn’t even know very well just because Ganta had built something great with Magari, and he was too afraid to lose it. He will do anything and everything to save the tiny freedom that the duo has so carefully and diligently built.

The tiny window into the lives of all of Magari’s, and one of Ganta’s, friends was lovely and they are all charming in their own way. Ukegawa’s understanding, Nono’s craftsmanship, Motoko’s sturdiness and Anamizu’s grit were presented very well in Insomniacs After School Episode 6. However, we can’t forget that most, if not all, of it is due to how charming Magari is. She suffers from the same issues as Ganta but never lets it affect her worldview and supports everyone in doing the same.

Verdict

Insomniacs After School Episode 6 was a lovely progression of the story as the main characters managed to convince their friends to help out with the event. The more, the merrier, we say!
