Twitter can’t keep calm as the politics of succession and dragons clinches near its inevitable end in the seventh episode of House of the Dragon. From the events that transpire, we can conclude the peace of Kings Landing is at risk, and so is the future of Targaryens.
As the spin-off for Game of Thrones comes close to its season finale, the many pieces of the dramatic puzzle are finally forming. The tension between Princess Rhaenyra and Queen Alicent is at an all-time high, and the fans are all up for it.

The previous episode left us with a fitting change of events for House Targaryen. We learned that the rumor surrounding Rhaenyra and her children was starting to gain weight, which threatened the very existence of the princess and her succession to the throne. However, Rhaenyra quickly judged the intensity of the storm and shifted her base to a safer ancestral Dragonstone.

However, the new episode titled Driftmark reveals the fighting side of Rhaenyra. It confirms that the princess took one step backward, only to prepare for what comes next. (And she does need every swordsman in Westeros). She is stronger, attacked, powerful, and eager to establish her claim.
The episode also depicts the funeral of Laena Velaryon. Which ultimately puts forward the question of Daemon’s rightful legacy. Something which makes him realize his true potential.
However, keeping up with the tradition, the funeral in House of the Dragon is gory and violence-filled. The unsettling question of “Now who’s gonna die!?” rules the episode, and offers a perfect revenge element to the series.
The series almost follows the pattern of its successor. A marriage with death, and a funeral with violence. Now, for some netizens, it has already checked all the boxes for being a perfect GOT prequel.

On the other hand, Alicent Hightower can’t undo the damages she has caused. (Although, implemented by Larys Strong as a measure to please the queen). The road to the finale is on, and so is the revenge-filled succession.
