House of the Dragon Episode 6 Preview: A New King Rises, Conflict and More Dragons

House of the Dragon Episode 6 preview shows us the first glimpses of our characters as they step into adulthood as their older and mature versions. Episode 5 was titled ‘We Light the Way’ and has a runtime of about 1 hour, directed by Clare Kilner, and Charmaine DeGraté writes the teleplay.

The title of the episode refers to the motto of House Hightower and is also the first time the words of a lesser house have been used as an episode title. In the episode, we meet Lady Rhea Royce of Runestone but in an unfavourable situation with Prince Daemon. On the other hand, Rhaenyra is trying to have such an arrangement to make her wedding to Laenor Velaryon as convenient as possible.

They’re trying to see if they can get along because it’s not a choice at the end of the day. But it’s also just very clear that they’re both at peace with their sexual desires and essentially agreeing to have an open relationship. They have decided to do their duty to their families and find some peace in their personal lives.

But the end of the episode makes it clear to Rhaenyra that all her decisions are going to have a consequence on the people around her. The decision to get intimate with Ser Criston to lie about her virtue to Alicent has turned both of them against her and will be interesting to see their equation after a decade, as shown in the preview.

In the HoTD Episode 6 preview, we see that King Viserys is well and addressing his council but he looks dishevelled and out of touch with reality. The matter of the Stepstones is seem to be back with maybe a new problem but the King of the Narrow Sea, Daemon is nowhere to protect or care about it.

Aegon Targaryen has also grown up and learning combat skills, as he seems to be interested in challenging the heir to the throne. Also, we get to see two more important dragons in the next episode – Vhagar and Sunfyre. Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke will take the place of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower while going head to head for power over the other.
