It has been a rather bittersweet year for cinema lovers with theatres being shut down on a national scale. Even though the OTT platforms have upped their games with the release of noteworthy shows, nothing beats the experience of watch films on the big screen. The present times almost reminds us of an angry David Lynch saying, “If you’re playing the movie on a telephone, you will never in a trillion years experience the film. You’ll think you have experienced it, but you’ll be cheated. It’s such a sadness, that you think you’ve seen a film’.
It is anger and sadness laced together that still gives us hopes of a future where watching films in theatres is a possibility. And, maybe these hopes will come true after all.
Maharashtra To Reopen Theatres
In a recent tweet, the office of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra revealed that auditoriums and theatres will be opening soon in the state of Maharashtra.
It is duly noted that COVID safety protocols are to be followed at these places to ensure the safety of the public and help to control the rise in COVID-19 cases. These safety protocols may include social distancing which can be taken care of by placing viewers in alternate seats, as followed by the state of West Bengal. Masks and sanitization are going to be essential under all circumstances.
With the news of theatres opening soon, cinema lovers have taken over the internet to express their delight.
