Heartbeat Episode 11 Recap

Heartbeat episode 11 picks up with Woo-hyeol and In-hae dancing at their party, much to the ire of Do-sik and Hae-won. Not being able to take their clear chemistry, Hae-won smashes the champagne glasses near her and storms out of the house, taking everyone by surprise. In-hae rushes after her, and she accuses her of keeping things from her. Although In-hae tries to protest, Hae-won tells her that actions speak louder than words and directly asks her whether she has feelings for Woo-hyeol.

In-hae isn’t able to give a proper reply to that, which proves Hae-won’s suspicions. She threatens In-hae and promises to show her her place, and right then, Woo-hyeol and Do-sik arrive. The latter asks her to apologise to In-hae and mentions that she has crossed a line. Unfortunately, Hae-won isn’t in the mood for these words and storms out, closely followed by Woo-hyeol. She gives him a piece of her mind as well, mentioning that he had asked her to wait for him and promised her that he would come back to her. However, she refuses to be a third wheel.

With this, she leaves, leaving the other three shocked. Fortunately, Do-sik is much more understanding and consoles In-hae that not everything in life goes according to plan. However, his conversation with Woo-hyeol goes differently – Do-sik asks him what his intentions are with In-hae and that he acted rashly. Woo-hyeol is left baffled at the accusation and asks him why he should be blamed for dancing at a party. However, Do-sik isn’t having any of that and tells him not to sway In-hae and to leave as soon as possible.

After the party wraps up, Woo-hyeol apologises to In-hae for putting her in a tight spot, but she tells him to apologise to Hae-won instead since she was excited to come to the party with him. Later on, In-hae curses herself for not replying to Hae-won’s accusations while Yang-nam visits Woo-hyeol and pushes him to do the necessary faster since he doesn’t have much time left. However, Woo-hyeol seems to be calmer this time around, only thinking about In-hae’s happiness.

However, Yang-nam mentions to Woo-hyeol the only reason he told him how to become a vampire is that it was because of him that countless vampires and their loved ones, including Hae-sun, died. Woo-hyeol is shocked at the revelation, and Yang-nam is left apologising with tears.

The next day, at a car park, Man-hwi overhears Do-sik and his aide talking about Woo-hyeol and vampires and discussing how they should try to get in touch with a vampire to know whether or not Woo-hyeol is the half-vampire with a scar that he requires. His aide agrees to find someone with intel, which Man-hwi finds an opportunity to explore. Afterwards, Do-sik meets Hae-won, and the former calls her immature for acting on her emotions at the party.

Do-sik later calls In-hae to chat at the office and assures her that he has explained things to Hae-won. However, he does ask her what he feels for him and then shows her the video of Woo-hyeol pushing the car with his hands. In-hae is at a loss for words but asks him to keep this between the two of them. He tries to convince her that she should see Woo-hyeol for who he really is, but In-hae focuses on the fact that Do-sik doesn’t know him as she does.

When he asks her why she can’t understand his point of view like he does Woo-hyeol’s, In-hae clams up and tells him that she doesn’t want to discuss this any further and leaves. Walking back home, In-hae can’t help but wonder why he cares for Woo-hyeol so much. At home, she goes to investigate the noise from Woo-hyeol’s room and realises that he has torn his room apart trying to find the scroll which has gone missing. In-hae proposes that they look together, but Woo-hyeol is left heartbroken and blames himself for the mess.

Meanwhile, at Hae-won’s house, Man-hwi makes an appearance and demands more money from her, telling her that the scroll that he brought her is a picture of his first love and the reason why he wants to become human. He doesn’t mention anything else and leaves her hanging with a myriad of questions as he demands more money in lieu of the answers. At Shaded Oasis, In-hae continues to search for the scroll and, at one point, falls from a tool after losing balance. Of course, Woo-hyeol is right there to catch her and thank her for caring about him.

Afterwards, as Woo-hyeol and In-hae are discussing the lost scroll, he gets a call from a very drunk Hae-won who blabbers about giving her false hope and then promptly disconnects. A tense Woo-hyeol goes to the bar to fetch her, and upon seeing him, she is left extremely happy, although she continues to blabber about him confusing her. At the guest house, In-hae, too, waits up for Woo-hyeol, wondering where he might be.

Woo-hyeol, meanwhile, takes Hae-won home, and she asks him not to leave her alone. He ends up staying with her all night, and In-hae feels sad that Woo-hyeol left her alone once again without telling her. The next morning, Hae-won tells him that she knows everything about their relationship and about Hae-sun. Plus, she also asks him whether he is human or not, considering he has been alive for centuries and waited for Hae-sun. Confronted with questions, Woo-hyeol is left confused, more so when Hae-won starts making absurd demands the moment she learns the truth.

Realising what is happening, he tells her that he doesn’t need the drawing and that the person whom he is waiting for taught him to love and doesn’t just look like Hae-sun. He also reminds her not to covet someone else’s memories. And, with that, he leaves her and wonders about Hae-sun and Hae-won’s connection and where it all went wrong. As he is left with thoughts of self-doubt, he finds In-hae barging toward him and blasting him for ghosting her for so long.

However, the happiness he feels watching her coming towards her is left unfinished when he passes out all of a sudden. In-hae is left inconsolable, and thankfully, Sang-hae and Dong-seop are also close by, and they carry him back to the mansion. They have no idea what is happening, but give him a blood pack anyway. Later on, Sang-hae and Dong-seop wonder whether they should move into the mansion. Elsewhere, Man-hwi makes a sudden visit to Do-sik, providing him with his vampire services.

Heartbeat Episode 11 Ending

The next morning, Woo-hyeol wakes up to find In-hae sleeping at his bedside, and they are both left concerned for each other. In-hae mentions that she was afraid of never seeing him like his parents and implores him never to leave her side and confesses her feelings for him. Woo-hyeol doesn’t waste one minute after the confession and immediately kisses her.

Heartbeat Episode 11 Review

Still From Heartbeat Episode 11

What a curious turn of events! It has now finally been revealed that Hae-won might resemble Woo-hyeol’s first love, but it is In-hae who actually is her reincarnation. It’s great to watch their chemistry, and Taecyeon and Won Ji-an are great in their roles. In-hae has come a long way from her stubborn girl persona in the first few episodes, but we expected nothing less from her. Interestingly enough, she is probably one of the first such characters whom I actually found interesting and worth looking deeper into.

On the other hand, our goofy vampire has become more serious, but Taecyeon looks great as a man in love and is utterly devoted to his on-screen better half. The story progression has also become quite juicy, and I am interested to see how far Hae-won will go with her spoilt, rich-girl attitude. On the other hand, I feel like Man-hwi’s character is going nowhere and regardless of how serious he tries to look, there won’t be much to see about him either way.

I am also waiting to see what Do-sik’s illness is as well. Hopefully, they are able to end this series on a high and never show us vampires flying ever again.

Heartbeat is streaming on Amazon Prime Video in select regions and on KBS2 in Korea.
