Global Pop icon Harry Styles shares his thoughts about his recent hit song As It Was from his latest album Harry’s House. He also opens up about his relationship with his girlfriend Olivia Wilde and about taking a break from films for some time.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the global icon speaks about noticing how his song As It Was has had the highest number of male listeners which seems a little unusual to him. While the icon is usually supported by a huge number of female fans, this was something that he couldn’t help noticing.
As the song has become the biggest hit in his solo career, it has definitely unlocked another level of stardom for Harry Styles. With his songs playing all around everywhere, the star has become someone who is almost impossible to ignore.
During the interview, he also drifts into the topic of his girlfriend, Olivia Wilde. The 38-year-old director-actor has been seeing her fair share of criticism and insensitive jokes since the news of her dating Harry Styles came out. Having the line between his personal and professional life blurred like this is something that the icon does not appreciate and does not feel good about the way she has been treated.
However, he knows and sees the good in his fans who have also been supportive of him through these jarring comments. Wilde too stands with him and knows that his fans are “deeply loving people” who have fostered an accepting community.
The pair met on the set of Don’t Worry Darling, which she directed (more on that in a moment), then made a splash when paparazzi snapped them holding hands at his manager and close friend Jeffrey Azoff’s wedding in January 2021.
The interview then proceeds with him talking about the pause that he will be putting on his acting career. Stating that, “I think there’ll be a time again when I’ll crave it,” he says. “But when you’re making music, something’s happening. It feels really creative, and it feeds stuff. A large part of acting is the doing nothing, waiting thing.”

Having recently been a part of two highly acclaimed films- Don’t Worry Darling and My Policeman, Styles says that when the time comes he’ll crave for acting once again, but right now he will be more musically focused.
While the icon gave his first performance at the age of four in a play called Barney the Church Man. While he continued to take part in other productions, the rush he found in performing with the band White Eskimos changed his life forever.
The interview continues to go onto the topic of his ongoing tour and the emotions that he has been feeling these days. Performing with the support of his family, friends and fans, the star is definitely living the life of a superstar whenever on stage.
