Today marks the 40th birthday of talented South Indian actress Anushka Shetty. She made her debut in the world of movies with a Telugu Film Super and has not looked back since then. She is a powerhouse performer who has delivered many successful movies in her career, including the Baahubali series, which is the most successful movie franchise in the country.

Arundhati
It is a 2009 Indian Telugu horror fantasy film directed by Kodi Ramakrishnan. The storyline is about a princess who fought with evil mystic forces that have been haunting her family for generations. The movie has Anushka Shetty playing the title character, while the cast also includes Sonu Sood, Deepak, Sayaji Shinde, Manorama, and Kaikala Satyanarayana.
The decision to do Arundhati was a brave one on Shetty’s part. She took on an unconventional role in the film and succeeded spectacularly. Anushka was absolutely magnificent in the movie and carried the whole film to success on her sturdy shoulders. This role helped her to clinch her very first Filmfare award as best actress in the leading role.

Vedam
Vedam is a 2010 anthology film directed and written by Krish. The story of Vedam revolves around five main characters who come from different places and backgrounds. All five of them meet on a dreadful night in a hospital, which changes their lives forever. The ensemble cast of the film includes Allu Arjun, Anushka Shetty, Manchu Manoj, Manoj Bajpayee, Saranya Ponvannan, Nagayya, and Deeksha Seth.
In the film, Anushka performed the challenging role of Saroja, a prostitute. As Saroja she has given one of the finest performances of her whole career, imbuing every frame with vitality. Her performance in this film earned her a second Filmfare Award for best actress.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is the second instalment of S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali series. The subject of the film is Shiva, Bahubali’s son. As soon as he realises his origins and history, Shiva starts his journey to find the answers to his unresolved questions. This story takes place against the backdrop of prior incidents in the Kingdom of Mahishmati. The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, and Anushka Shetty in the leading roles.
In this epic action drama, Anushka portrayed the character of Devasena, a righteous and defiant queen. She brought elegance and conviction to her portrayal of Devasena and was highly praised by the audience. She did not allow herself to be overshadowed by the ensemble cast; rather, she portrayed a character who has been ingrained in the canon of Indian film
