Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 Twitter Reactions: MCU Gets Back on Track With James Gunn’s Final MCU Send-Off

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 Twitter reactions turn the tide for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5 as James Gunn closes the intergalactic trilogy on an emotional high. Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, and Pom Klementieff, with Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket and Vin Diesel lending his voice for Groot and others. The movie is the third and final instalment of the Guardians franchise as Gunn is now helming the strings of the DC Universe by stepping in as Kevin Feige’s counterpart for the else world fictional superhero universe.

Releasing on May 5, 2023, the Marvel Studios’ production is the second Phase 5 addition following Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania premiere in February. Unlike its predecessor, GOTG 3 is being hailed as one of the best movies since Avengers: Endgame by the people who’ve already watched the film on the first day of its release. Breaking tradition, the franchise’s third chapter welcomes John Murphy as the composer of the film’s score, unlike the previous volumes being composed by Tyler Bates.

While the bar has been lowered for MCU releases considering the falling quality of its last released movies (with a few exceptions), the latest superhero flick featuring the galaxy’s misfit squad of heroes march to a different beat and has won over Marvelites. Fans of the universe have been waiting for an emotionally held-together film for a long time, and Gunn’s story offered the much-needed remedy, even if it’s the last one for Marvel.

The early trailer of the movie spelt it out loud enough that it would be centred around Rocket’s backstory, yet no one had fathomed how painful it would truly be, not even the other Guardians. When the movie opened in the theatres, and people got around to seeing it for themselves, nothing could’ve prepared them for what they were about to witness. Nevertheless, it’s unsurprising to see the Guardians film check off all the boxes by striking a stellar balance between witty banter, heroic antics and emotional quotient. It’s a bittersweet final step for some crew, cast members, and characters alike.

Still from the MCU film.

Some of these offbeat loveable characters will return later, but for now, let’s look at what the Marvel fans had to say about today’s theatrical release. Delivering one of the best action sequences in a long while, the movie also allows a good look at some new characters. Will Poulter’s man-sized-child-like portrayal of Adam Warlock opens the floor to some physical comedy, while Chukwudi Iwuji’s role as High Evolutionary has drawn some fervent responses from the audience for all that he put Rocket through, granting him the title of one of the cruellest villains we’ve seen in Marvel movies for quite some time.
