Great Expectations Season 2 seems like a must at this point, right? Given how the show ended, both viewers as well as people who have read the classic know that this surely isn’t the end of this Steven Knight period drama. So, where’s more? When do we get more? Hulu’s latest drama was from Peaky Blinders’ Steven Knight and was based on the classic by Charles Dickens of the same name. The cast featured some really talented actors, including Olivia Colman as Miss Havisham, Fionn Whitehead as Pip and Shalom Brune-Franklin as Estella.
Alongside them, we have Ashley Thomas as Jaggers, Johnny Harris as Magwitch, Hayley Squires as Sara, Owen McDonnell as Joe, Trystan Gravelle as Compeyson, Tim Key as Mr. Watson, Laurie Ogden as Biddy, Rudi Dharmalingam as John Wemmick, Matthew Needham as Bentley Drummle and Matt Berry as Mr. Pumblechook.
With only six episodes, each with a runtime of 40-60 minutes, the show came to an end, leaving us wondering what will happen next. The series dealt with the life story of a young boy named Pip and how dreams of becoming a gentleman. As we follow Pip on a coming-of-age journey, we see him encounter many people on the way, including Miss Havisham and her adopted daughter, Estella, who play a big part in Pip’s life. With so many lives tangled up, Great Expectations truly made for a well-laid-out period drama.
When Will Great Expectations Season 2 Release?
As of now, there has been no official word about Great Expectations Season 2. Given how the series just ended, one can say it is too soon to have a word on it. Having said that, the chances that the show will be renewed seem grim as it did not really sit well with either the critics or the audience out there.
Steven Knight really tried to personalize Dickens’ work and give it the flair of modern television. However, only renewal news at this time can tell us how much it has worked out.
