Gossip Girl Season 2 Episode 10: I Am Gossip
Although we clearly know that Kate is the Gossip Girl for the reboot, the characters are still left to find that out. That is exactly what the final episode of Gossip Girl Season 2 focuses on but, in a very messy manner.
First off we have a MET Gala scene happening where Zoya tries her best to lure out the elite town’s most hunted. However, the plan isn’t successful, mostly because of the awfully shifting screentime given to the characters. Next up on the list is Obie, who wants to right what he has been doing wrong all season- acting impulsively and naively about things. To save his mother from going to jail for the crimes his sister committed, he decides to team up with Gossip Girl but, also makes it his plan to reveal the person’s real identity.
It is a stupid plan that Obie executes that lures Kate into the trap and out in the open. Meanwhile, Monet and Luna are pushed to the sidelines in this episode to only support Julien and be are backups. As for the show’s favourite, complex relationship- we have Audrey and Aki tired of Max and waiting for their impending break-up to take place.

Gossip Girl Season 2 Episode 10: Verdict
What happened in the finale? Well, an overall unwelcoming mess. One might even assume that the recurring theme in the original Gossip Girl show and this reboot is the underwhelming revelation and the build-up that leads everyone to find out who Gossip Girl actually is. Moreover, this episode just did not make sense as it was focused mostly on wrapping up the show rather than giving chance to all the characters to wrap up their individual narratives.
It is disastrous what the second season did to Monet as she was the Blair we have all wanted and waited for. But, for the last few episodes, she has been underutilized as hell. The same goes for Luna who had her shining moment in the season’s eighth episode but, it has landed flat and become nonexistent in the last two. Aki, Audrey and Max are characters that needed and deserved more but, go nothing but a cold shove.
Overall, the season finale was disappointing and not worth all the chaos with most of the characters getting nothing and the climax becoming boring and pretentious.
