Frozen Hot Boys Review: Simple Story About the Importance of a Second Chance

Frozen Hot Boys Review: Netflix brings a Thai comedy drama film where you see the importance of second chances and a rebirth that follows young boys when they get such a chance. Centered around boys in a juvenile detention center, this movie is simple, entertaining with sufficient Thai-style comedy, which comes with a deeper message which is easy to catch. Following a group that was formed to take on a snow sculpting competition, they aim to win while coming from a country where snow never falls.

Frozen Hot Boys Review

Everyone deserves a second chance, especially young minds who wish to move on from their slip-ups that land them in juvenile detention centres. This film takes on this outlook and brings to us a plot that shows how a second chance can change and probably save someone’s life. With themes of guilt, change and rebirth emerging throughout the film, the audience can easily see the purpose of this film without much effort. I liked the simplicity of the film, which made sure that I was kept entertained while the message was brought out.

The other thing that this film focuses on is having self-belief to achieve what may seem to be impossible. These young boys come from a country where snow has never fallen, and yet they make their way to Sapporo, Japan, to take part in an ice-sculpting competition. They show the intricacies of Thai sculpting and bring it out on something that they’ve never handled in their lives. All through the faith they’ve had in themselves and their teacher who takes them to the competition.

Moving on, the film brings quite a few interesting themes, but when it comes to the plot itself, you may find it a little lacking to your liking. It has the typical Thai entertainer vibe where some jokes work while the others just leave you cringing over how lame they can be. And putting young boys in this only makes it all the more hard to accept sometimes. Then, some happenings in the story don’t make sense, and you are left wondering when this took place.

Altogether, the plot is straightforward for most of the film, which goes perfectly well with the themes that it is carrying. There isn’t a mess being created in any aspect because of the simplicity of the movie which may work well in some parts, but for audience looking for a all-round entertainment, it may fall short.

Altogether, the movie has its good and bad, but in the end, I found it to my liking because of the theme that it carries. If curiosity gets the best of you, then you can always speed up the film when watching it or skip on a few scenes that will make it fun for you to watch.

Summing Up

Frozen Hot Boys is a movie with some very interesting themes that focus on getting a second chance in life to be able to fix what was harmed by ourselves. This movie is about reigniting the fire to live within us and finding the right path with the help of the society around us. The idea is good, but the movie may need a little speeding up for some scenes.

  1. Uuuuuh what??? An ice movie,

Thise are criminal people and it should be a jail,

Should have been More like the tv show: prison break, or they trying to escape or do prison stuff,

Two houers with alot of boring parts (fastforward buttons),

Making ice statues are a sport thing, so this is a sport movie, with a little bitt of fighting…(good guys gets beaten up), as usuall.

So the winning team getting a prize??? I may have skipped over that, it should be a goal here, like freedom??
