Forecasting Love and Weather episode 8 starts with Ha-kyung screaming at Ki-jun and asking him why he dropped by at her house unannounced. However, Ha-kyung’s anger turns into confusion when he apologises to her. Meanwhile, the three musketeers wonder what just happened with the two of them and Si-woo immediately gets up to check on her.

Downstairs, Ki-jun is just being an all-around annoying addition to this fluffy office romance and loudly complaining about the karma that is being dished back to him. Either way, Si-woo drops the drunk and passed out Ki-jun at home and Yu-jin is left confused wondering what is even going on. She’s annoyed as well but is left angry when she hears him mumbling an apology to Ha-kyung.

Meanwhile, Si-woo asks Ha-kyung whether she was annoyed when he told her about living with Yu-jin. He further asks her about writing Ki-jun’s columns for him and all of this happening together results in a tiff between the two lovers as well. Everyone goes to sleep angry, leaving Dong-han confused in the living room. The next morning, Ha-kyung gets into a car accident, making her late for work.

Meanwhile, it’s a scorching summing day and tempers are rising both in and out of the office. Ki-jun going out to pick up Ha-kyung does not bode well for Si-woo, who is the last person to learn of her accident. As the office tries to figure out what’s up with this horrible weather, Si-woo continues to text Ha-kyung, now wondering whether she was hurt in the accident, completely ignoring his duties in the office.

Si-woo gives some solid advice to Yu-jin, though, that if Ki-jun really loves her, he should love her past as well. I think it really gets through to her, considering she was freaking out Ki-jun getting to know about her living with Si-woo in the past. Either way, all the key players gather in the briefing room and Ki-jun picks up a fuss over Si-woo and Yu-jin coming into the room together although he did something similar, if not worse, the night before.

After Si-woo calls him pathetic for tormenting his lover for her past, Ki-jun has an almost mental break and starts hitting Si-woo who also hits him back. The spectacle is caught by all the reporters and is a circus for the entire office to gape at. Either way, Ha-kyung helps the office to settle down with the rumours about Si-woo and as the ac turns back on, she goes off to have a word with Si-woo.

She sits him down and tells him the truth about everything that happened that day, saying that she didn’t want him to know how pathetic her past relationship was. But, she promises that she won’t keep things from him since if he misunderstood her, she’d regret it forever. The night ends on a high note, with both of them being just adorable together with one creepy aspect – Ki-jun spying on them from the car.

He goes home and Yu-jin confronts him. She tells him that there’s nothing wrong with living with your boyfriend, but Ki-jun, being the annoying brat that he is, says that he can’t accept his wife staying with any man other than him. As if he wasn’t going to get married to someone and cheated on them. But I digress. He tells him that Si-woo is dating Ha-kyung, and of course, that has to be a dig at him. It can’t be anything else, right?

Final Thoughts: Forecasting Love and Weather Episode 8

I enjoyed this episode because good god do I have a burning hatred for Ki-jun right now. The fact that he has the audacity to question who Ha-kyung is dating after cheating on her and dumping her right before their wedding, trying to steal money from her and harassing her has my blood boiling. Not only is he a lying and cheating scum, he’s also a condescending mansplainer who thinks he can just boss his ex around because… reasons?

Every time I watched him interact with Yu-jin, I wanted her to run like the wild. I mean, this man is a walking red flag who hasn’t progressed further than elementary grade. He’s not fit to be a husband. And the fact that he had the audacity to question Yu-jin life choices is hilarious to me. On what grounds can he say, I can’t imagine you living with another man? Does he think he owns his wife? Or does his wife have no autonomy in whom she sees and stays with? And, all of this happened before he came into the picture.

Anyway, clearly, I have feelings about this situation. Like, this character has no redeeming qualities. Si-woo was entirely correct in his assessment of him!

On the other hand, Si-woo and Ha-kyung’s relationship arc will be quite interesting. I like how they get over their issues, it’s mature. Plus, that little scene at the restaurant is so adorable. 10/10 would watch again!
