Written and directed by Stelana Kliris, this romantic drama film features a failing rockstar who moves to an isolated cliffside home on the idyllic island of Cyprus to find himself and get some peace. However, that plan is foiled when he meets different people from all over the island and then comes across an old flame.

This movie is a romantic dramedy that feels awkward and unimpressive from the get-go. The movie showcases the beauty of the Mediterranean island but fails to bring forth that same charm in its story which is a cliched reiteration of different films that we have previously watched a few times. Focusing on a long-lost love story between John and Sia, the film seems to be standing on the edge of a cliff waiting to jump at any given opportunity into whatever storyline it is able to conjure up.

Harry Connick Jr. and Agni Scott’s steamy romance is anything but that. The movie’s problem is that it’s slow and lethargic and feels uninterested to get deeper into giving us something warm and gooey. It’s very hard to pinpoint the vibes of the movie – its off-handed humour is odd & uncomfortable and the romance ingenuine. Connick Jr. feels like he feels uninterested in selling his character and the depth that it wants us to feel with his character is nothing that will catch your eye in any way.
The problem, however, lies in the fact that there is literally nothing new that this movie offers. Even the misunderstandings that the characters have seem to be tired tropes that need to be retired. For example, Sia immediately jumps to conclusions the moment she remotely hears someone in John’s house she immediately freaks out. It keeps on happening over and over again – it’s really annoying. As a result, you don’t feel Sia and John’s romance, their passion or their longing. I think it’s mostly because we don’t see their romance and it’s just mentioned in passing. I am unsure why that choice was made because it’s very hard to root for a romance that we have not seen a blink of.

It’s also the performances that make us feel a bit uninterested in the whole ordeal – Connick Jr., as mentioned previously, feels uninterested and is extremely one-note and so does Scott. Both of them have no passion in their performances, choosing rather to be subdued and full of hurt instead of showcasing an underlying passion that comes from seeing your “soulmate” once more and sharing a surprising past. I liked Ali Fumiko Whitney though, I thought she was very dynamic.
I love the music and the beautiful showcase of the natural beauty of Cyprus. That’s the only thing that is truly striking thing about this movie – you get lost in the beauty. The cinematography does wonders for the movie and everything looks right out of a storybook. On the other hand, the music goes hand-in-hand with the beautiful natural beauty and enthrals you immediately. They are dreamy and you are sure to lose yourself in them.

However, the worst thing that this movie does is add an odd suicide subplot for no reason. It adds nothing to the story and is mostly a clunky afterthought that the drama of the film could’ve done without. It’s an odd addition that is not discussed properly and is used to infuse this slow-moving drama with something more than romance & past secrets and leaves a terrible taste in the mouth.
Find Me Falling Review: Final Thoughts

Without passion or humour, the biggest sin of this movie is that it invokes no feelings in the viewers. You don’t relate to the characters because they themselves feel uninterested and you don’t care for the story because it’s fraught with cliched plot points. This forgettable rom-com is just a bland mess that does nothing.
