Fatal Seduction Season 3 Ending Explained

This season starts with Jacob and Nandi both trying to move on with their lives – Jacob is getting married to Kim, while Nandi has been seeing a therapist and has been making progress to forget about Jacob and everything that happened. However, things rarely ever stay sane, as after Jacob’s marriage invite arrives at their home, Nandi loses herself and decides to tell Kim the truth about Jacob. Fuelled by jealousy and unable to move on, she confronts her during one of their wedding festivities.

The meeting doesn’t go well, although Nandi hands her number over before Jacob catches up to them. Jacob and Nandi have sex afterwards, leaving the two ashamed after a maid catches them. That night, Kim calls Nandi to the terrace, blubbering and incoherent and attacks her for coming into their lives. The next thing she remembers, she wakes up with Jacob over her, and Kim has fallen from the terrace to her death.

On her way out, Nandi is surprised to find Leonard there, who is miffed with Jacob for foiling his plans to go into business with Kim’s father. He, too, rushes out, and the two briefly make eye contact. Although the death is deemed a suicide at first, Zinhle, now working with the police, finds proof that foul play was involved and pushes for it to be a homicide, only to realise her mistake when she gets to know of her mother’s involvement. Soon, Nandi and Jacob reignite their relationship, and the police hone in on the fact that it was the pair who killed Kim.

Who is Sandra Montaung / Sandra Peterson? What was her involvement?

Sandra was initially introduced as Nandi’s therapist but we learn later that she has been the one orchestrating this entire thing.

She was once Jacob’s therapist after his father killed himself and she and her husband, Samson, took him in and raised him. She has been grooming Jacob all of his life. Once an adult, Jacob ran away with their money and set up his life. However, when Nandi left for the first time, he went back to them to find comfort and Sandra seduced him. Their affair was eventually caught by Samson, and a scuffle ensued, in the end of which Sandra killed her husband, hoping to stay with Jacob. Unfortunately, he refused to stay with her, leaving her vengeful and angry.

She, thus, followed Jacob’s life and got involved in Nandi’s treatment, slowly drugging her and making her lose her mental sanity. She had hoped that Nandi would do something rash, which worked to an extent. However, she didn’t kill Kim.

Who actually killed Kim?

In a (not so) surprising twist, we learn that Jacob accidentally killed Kim. We learn this in the last episode, when Nandi, after getting the proof required to put two and two together about Leonard’s murder, realises that Jacob was behind it all along. After seeing Nandi unconscious on the roof, Jacob confronted Kim and a brief struggle resulted in the very drunk Kim to fall from the terrace. Nandi is left distraught that he would lie and manipulate her like that and tapes the entire confession, but things don’t work out how she had hoped.

In the end, a big confrontation ensues involving Zinhle and Vuyo as well, and Jacob holds Nandi at gunpoint to not be sent to prison. However, to save her mother, Zinhle shoots at Jacob and injures him and he is eventually taken to prison. Nandi now stands alone, letting go of the man she loved so fondly, but free at last.
