Extraordinary Attorney Woo Episode 14 Reactions: Fans Are Heartbroken by the Breakup

Extraordinary Attorney Woo episode 14 aired on 12 August 2022 and it has left all of us heartbroken by the sad news. Firstly, we knew that Jung Myeong-suk was ill but to be diagnosed with stage three stomach cancer, is a shocking reveal. Secondly, the dolphin couple breaking up while waiting for the dolphins was an absolute tearjerker.

But we can also understand Young-woo’s point of view as well when she tells her father that, Junho is a person who loves and takes care of her as he does but she thinks the problem is her. She is incapable of doing the same and might make him feel lonely. And we see the same kind of thing play out when she starts talking about the case in the middle of the breakup.

After watching the episode, many fans are upset and emphasise the point that Young-woo should have expressed how she really felt, instead of putting up boundaries, all of a sudden. However, if I was at Junho’s place I would have deduced that she overheard his sister when she was talking about Young-woo not being a right fit for him.

Apart from that we also got a glimpse into Jung Myeong-Seok’s previously married life, when he is visited by his ex-wife. They get interrupted by Young-woo and he has a discussion about the case for some good minutes, which might have brought back the memories of why they broke up. He was too invested in his work to give attention to his wife and some fans fear that the other couple will have the same fate.

However, for some comic relief, it was hilarious to see Choi Suyeon voice the inner thoughts of every viewer and question Kwon Min-woo on his changed attitude. In previous episodes, he was so onto getting Young-woo fired but on this trip to Jeju island, it seems like his whole character changed. Could it be something that he is planning in the grand scheme of things?

Meanwhile, the next episode previews show that Woo Young-woo’s identity as Tae Su-mi’s daughter is revealed and might cause a lot of trouble for her. Although Youn-woo and Junho were not able to catch the dolphins, after waiting on them for days, in the end. The actors playing them certainly cached glimpses of the said dolphins which were shown in behind the scenes of the episode. If you are curious to watch it, then scroll down below.

  1. What drives me crazy is that we’re 14 episodes in and we have yet to actually get to know who Lee Jun-ho is! So far all we actually see him do when he’s not working or fluttering heart eyes at Woo Young-woo is get drunk.

Yet we know everyone else. Obviously Young-woo as the titular character gets the lion share of spotlights into her personal life. We also know that Geu-ra-mi is a farmer’s daughter who’s a rebellious enough daredevil to karaoke over the PA during class. Spring Sunshine Su-yeon is a senior judge’s daughter and has a brother who’s a physician. Myeong-seok has cancer and was married. Hairy is a virgin because he cracks food themed dad jokes. Heck, now we even know that Tactician Kwon is likely the eldest if not only son, and he’s working very hard to provide for his elderly parents who are in poor health.

How come we know more about all the other characters way more than we know about Lee Jun-ho? Why don’t we know how he ended up at Hanbada, or how he and Min-woo became roommates? Where is he originally from (not Seoul and not Jeju?) and what is his family really like when they’re not hating on Young-woo? Is being a paralegal his dream job, or did he originally wanted to become an attorney but for whatever reason decided against law school? Where did he study and why are his former classmates such assholes? Why did he volunteer at the disability charity–something to do with his family? Did his volunteering background in any way contribute to his extra attention for Young-woo? And if Jun-ho is so popular in the office, how come we’ve yet to see any of the ladies compete for his attention when he’s with Young-woo?

With Jun-ho’s position as the male lead, I think we deserved to have all those things gradually revealed throughout the series. It’s a shame that never happened, and all of a sudden here we are at the home stretch. I’d been Jun-ho and Young-woo’s biggest shipper until recently, but now I find it super hard to keep shipping for a guy I hardly know other than for his blind stupid love for our badass heroine, no matter how adorable this quasi knight-in-shining-armour otherwise might be.

While I want for them, more than anything, to move towards a happy ending in this home stretch, at this point Jun-ho looks like he really is alone with no support system whatsoever to see him through the uphill battle that is loving an autistic Young-woo. This show didn’t have to hammer us with this fact for three episodes straight just for us to get the point–if anything, the Jeju back-to-back episodes should have come with glimpses of where Jun-ho might turn to for strength during the tough spots of the relationship, because that’s what we need to believe in our whale couple’s longevity. With the looming maternity drama foreshadowing the home stretch, I am wondering how the situation might somehow believably work in favour of our whale couple’s love, and convincing me at this point won’t be easy.
