-Extraordinary Attorney Woo Episode 12 Recap Contains Spoilers-
Looks like Extraordinary Attorney Woo episode 12 is going to bring out gender inequality. As Mir Life company’s policy changes, female employees are expected to quit their jobs or else their husbands will be out on unpaid leave. Women are left with no choice but to quit, however, two employees are not ready to accept this and file a lawsuit.

In Hanbada, Han Seon-young tells Jung Myung-seok of Jang Jae-jin who was once his and his colleague’s client. The man had attacked his colleague because they got him into eight years of imprisonment. She tells him to be careful and that she has already increased security around the building.

Later, Jung Myung-seok meets with the Head of HR of Mir Life company who asks them for help. During the meeting, the attorneys agree that the policy looks biased against female employees, but Jung Myung-seok tells him to find all information about the two employees who refused to resign.

The Head of HR then asks them about the opposing attorney Ryu Jae-sook who is famous for taking up cases that have to do with women, human rights, labour and so on. The scene then shifts to the opposing attorney protesting against Mir Life along with the two employees in front of the court.
The opposing sides then meet with the judge who turns out to be the same judge from episode 6. He once again asks questions about heritage, however, he makes the mistake of asking Ryu Jae-sook about her father’s generation which offends her. She then tells him that she is from a senior generation than his and that she should be his aunt.

Later at home, Woo Gwang-ho tries to ask about Lee Jun-ho but when he does not get his answer he directly tells Woo Young-woo that he saw them kissing. He then asks if she is in a relationship but she denies saying that they are still trying to figure things out which infuriates him as he demands to meet Lee Jun-ho.
Elsewhere, Jung Myung-seok is paranoid because Jang Jae-jin hasn’t been caught by the police yet. At the trial, Ryu Jae-sook is able to prove that the company itself is biased against women as the Head of HR is the one who represents the company and his remarks were offensive.
Jung Myung-seok tries to show that the policy did not force the female employees to voluntarily quit with his witness, however, Ryu Jae-sook brings things into her favour. Later, one of the plaintiffs gives Hanbada’s attorney some snacks when Woo Young-woo notices her key chain. She then notices the same symbol on a taxi and wants to see it, so Lee Jun-ho speeds up the car and helps her see the whole ad.

At Hanbada, Hwan Min-woo tries to trick Woo Young-woo with documents that show Hanbada’s involvement in making the company’s policy. He hopes for her to give it to Ryu Jae-sook, but she takes them to Jung Myung-seok and questions him. She tells him that attorneys should make this world a better place but he tells her that their work is supposed to benefit their clients. He also tells her that they just fight while the decision is supposed to be made by the judge only.
Later, she is protesting to free dolphins into the ocean along with Lee Jun-ho who adds this to the list of dates. She asks him whether she should listen to Jung Myung-seok and leave the judgement to the judge while doing her best to defend her client. He tells her that this is not an easy question as working at a big law firm is never easy. But he gives her his support no matter what she decides to do.
At the next trial, Woo Young-woo decides to go with what Jung Myung-seok has told her and defends her client even though she is clearly not okay with it. She brings up the infertility issue of one of the plaintiffs and tells her that the voluntary resignation would have been a better choice so that she can focus on the IVF she was getting. While this enrages the people present, this is relevant to the case.

Later, she meets Ryu Jae-sook outside who tells her that she should work for clients who actually need her help and are right. This helps in resolving her predicament, however, Hwan Min-woo gets Jung Myung-seok and Choi Soo-yeon to witness the two talk while making it seem suspicious. Later that evening, Hwan Min-woo sneaks into Woo Young-woo’s office and sends the documents he had given her to Ryu Jae-sook along with Woo Young-woo’s card.

Elsewhere, Lee Jun-ho drops Woo Young-woo home but sees her looking around. She tells him that her father saw the two kissing and wants to meet him but she can’t do that because they aren’t dating. Lee Jun-ho tells her that he is hurt, he went on all those peculiar dates but is being told now that they aren’t dating. When she asks why he went along with her, he tells it’s because he likes her but he is hurt right now.

At the trial, Ryu Jae-sook brings out evidence that the company has planned this a year back. Hwan Min-woo thinks that his plan has worked but then she brings out another piece of evidence given by an employee of the company. While this trial garners more attention from other groups and the media, the final verdict arrives and it is not in favour of Ryu Jae-sook.
The women don’t lose hope as they tried their best. However, the Head of HR isn’t happy because he knows that he will be fired soon. He is aware that this was all planned in order to make him quit the position.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo Episode 12 Ending
Ryu Jae-sook has invited Woo Young-woo and Choi Soo-yeon for an after-trial party, and on the way, Woo Young-woo compares her to the Yangtze river dolphin. She is just as hard to find but Woo Young-woo hopes that people like her don’t go extinct. Upon reaching there, Ryu Jae-sook gives Woo Young-woo the documents saying that she sent them.

Woo Young-woo is surprised and Ryu Jae-sook tells her to be careful at Hanbada. The two then go to the rooftop for the party where Ryu Jae-sook recites a poem. In Hanbada, Jung Myung-seok is suspicious of a person and tries to run back to his office. However, this paranoia was for nought as the man turned out to be a worker.

He gets a message from Han Seon-young telling him that Jang jae-jin has been caught. While a little relieved, he starts coughing profusely and ends up coughing blood. He realises that he is sick and can’t help but laugh at his situation.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo Episode 12 Review
Equality is something we all want but this patriarchal society isn’t easy to change and the lawyers who fight for justice are rare. They too are slowly going extinct like the Yangtze river dolphins and this is a beautiful connection that has been made in today’s episode.
Anyways, things don’t seem easy for these lawyers and nor does it look good for Lee Jun-ho. He is definitely facing the challenge of dating Woo Young-woo but sometimes his patience also runs out. I wonder if today was that day because Woo Young-woo thought that they were not dating. No one is to be blamed in this situation and both sides (especially Lee Jun-ho) need to work things out with patience.
But I have to say his ‘what my girlfriend wants, she gets’ attitude when chasing that taxi was really charming. This guy is just taking our expectations to the next level and boys out there are going to have a really hard time.
This episode gave us another round of hatred for Hwan Min-woo, this tactician who wanted to manipulate our innocent Woo Young-woo. I really hope someone saves her from him soon.
Lastly, Jung Myung-seok showed us that being an attorney is no less than risking their lives on the line. There are some clients who will come back to you for revenge and that can be really scary. Though, I hope he gets better because I really like his character and Kang Ki-young has done such an amazing job with this role.
