The defendant Yang Jeong-il has been accused of sexually assaulting a mentally disabled woman, but he is adamant that he loves the woman named Shin Hye-yeong. While he is persistent about this, Woo Young-woo decides to help him because she believes that people with disability can also love.

After an affirmative answer, she proceeds to tell him that she wants to date him while taking out a file of things to do on a date. He is speechless and finds this funny but tries to hide his smile, then tells her that he will drop her home as that is also something to do on a date.

He then tells her that they should also hold hands on a date but she tells him that it is uncomfortable to the point where it becomes unbearable for her. Extraordinary Attorney Woo Episode 10 Review
Extraordinary Attorney Woo episode 10 brought out an issue that not everyone knows of, the right to love that a disabled person is not given. People think that it is common that a person with a mental disability will not be able to feel emotions like love and find it hard to believe that there exists a person who can love them. Maybe this is why even people with disability find it hard to believe when someone loves them.
Everyone deserves to love and this is an emotion that comes from deep within, so why see the capabilities of a person when they say that they are in love? Why is it that the world gets the power to decide whether someone is in love or not?

On the other hand, the mother’s concern is understandable as even the caretaker of the mentally disabled cannot think of such a possibility. Maybe it is because they’ve lived with them and know that there is no one who can bear the burden to taking care of them, and it is only because they are family that these caretakers are able to carry this responsibility.
But maybe it is this mindset that needs to be changed. Every parent is protective of their child and while these parents have to be extra protective, they need to not go overboard and have some faith in the world.
But, one of the best moments from this episode has to be when Lee Jun-ho proudly introduces Woo Young-woo to his friends and also fights when someone calls his love pity. Again, this mindset is too deeply etched in people and will take decades to change, but if people like Lee Jun-ho really exist in this world then we can already call it a better place.
Lastly, a shout out to Woo Young-woo and the effort she has put into dating Lee Jun-ho. She is trying her best and her actions in this episode were not easy, so a round of applause to our wonderful attorney.
What side would you take? The mother’s or the person who claims to love Shin Hye-yeong? Let us know in the comments below!
Till then, watch Extraordinary Attorney Woo on Netflix.
