Everything Calls for Salvation Teaser: Fragility of the Younger Generation and a Psychotic Ward

Netflix is ready to widen its horizon, from Korean dramas to Turkish series we now have Italian shows coming onto the platform. A series of Italian shows are being announced by Netflix and the latest one is Everything Calls for Salvation. Directed by Francesco Bruni and starring Federico Cesari in the lead role of Daniele who ends up going through a seven-day compulsory health treatment, but does that mean he is crazy?

The show takes us on a journey with Daniele who wakes up to find himself in the dormitory of a psychiatric ward. He is a twenty-year-old highly sensitive man who ends up in the ward after a psychotic crisis. Finding himself with five peculiar roommates whom he thinks he has nothing in common with, Daniele goes through days with doctors who want to know what is wrong with him and nurses who seem disinterested. While these seven days seem long and endless in the beginning, they turn into the most intense and formative experience of his life.

The series tries to show the fragility of the youth in the country who are mentally sensitive and while their heartbreaking cry for help is not heard by anyone, they continue to live their life in discomfort. Everything Calls for Salvation tries to show this fragility through the experiences of Daniele in compulsory health treatment.

The series is loosely based on a book of the same name written by Daniele Mencarelli which shows a problem that is overlooked by many. The teaser shows Daniele in a party scene however, the scene suddenly shifts as he wakes up in the psychiatric ward. Scared, he tries to break free from the binds that have him attached to his bed while his roommates laugh at him.

When Daniele asks where he is, the nurse tells him that they are on vacation and this is a special kind of resort. A resort with special rules which include not walking around. The scared and surprised Daniele is trying to understand the situation and the teaser ends there.

This clip was shared by Netflix on its Youtube channel and has viewers excited by its unique plot which deals with the real problems of today’s youth. The show is being eagerly looked forward to and we hope for the release date to be announced soon.

As of now we only know that Everything Calls for Salvation is set to release in October 2022, on Netflix.
