Enigma Plot

When a top student, Fa, notices that her classmates Matt and Wan died mysteriously, she realises that she is the next victim as she is the third top-scoring pupil at the school. When she finds evidence proving the new teacher Ajin isn’t who he claims to be, Ajin reveals the truth to her about the curse on the school that’s run by a magician. Fa and Ajin unite to find the culprit and put an end to the deadly spell.

Enigma Episode 2 Recap

Fa decides to live at Ajin’s place for the time being. He divides the room with a rope so that she won’t meddle with the energies. When Ajin drops Fa at a spot far away from the school, some students take a picture of the two. The picture gets passed around and Fa’s classmates question her. Just in time, Ajin comes and states that he is Fa’s uncle and she’s his niece. To make his statement look authentic, he asks Fa to check the text from her mother.

When she plays the voice note of her mother, the class hears Fa’s mom requesting her to take care of Uncle Ajin. Her classmates buy the lie and let her go. Fa becomes furious at Ajin for using black magic on her mother. She starts yelling at him, causing him to become mad. He shuns her with a scissor and warns her that he isn’t a teacher but an occultist on a mission. He commands her to trust him and not question.

He then hands her a list of top-scoring students’ names and asks her to have an eye on them. Her ex-best friend Namsine is also on the list and she first takes care of her. Fa gets a vision where she pukes blood and pulls a glass shard from her mouth. She also turns to look at Namsine who is being grabbed by spirits. She wakes up from her nap and calls Namsine. She checks up on her to see whether she’s safe.

Namsine initially lies that she is at home but Fa finds out that she’s in school. Namsine states that she got an anonymous letter from someone to check the music room and that she’s going to investigate. Fa remembers that Ajin hasn’t exorcised the music room yet and so she requests her to not go. But just then, the call ends and Fa notices someone watching her. Namsine enters the room and witnesses a doll hanging on a rope. She screams at the sight.

Thankfully, Fa reaches on time and helps her. Ajin also comes to the spot and notices a girl running quickly from his sight. Back at home, Fa consoles Namsine and the latter decides to skip school. Ajin then tells Fa that the magician is an amateur and so he has everything under control. He then arranges a sudden test for the high schoolers that will help them find the witch since she will definitely come for the test.

On the day of the test, Ajin and Fa notice that a girl who doesn’t belong to the chemistry group comes to the test. When she leaves for the restroom, Fa follows. The girl traps Fa in the toilet and waits for Ajin. When he comes, she splashes water on him and throws salt. It is then found that she is a fellow student named Yihwa who runs the occult club of the school. She mistakes Ajin as the cause of all the mishaps. The three of them have a short discussion before Ajin leaves.

Yihwa and Fa talk about black magic and share information. Meanwhile, Ajin learns that the symbol he found directs him to the forest behind the school. He rushes to the forest to find the culprit but she has already begun her plans. She visits the school and the students start puking blood. Yihwa endures a severe seizure causing Fa to remove the protection crystal chain.

When Yihwa gets alright, Fa rushes behind the girl wearing the purple cape. At the same time, Ajin finds the cursed place in the forest and encounters a force. He realises that the witch isn’t an amateur. He warns Fa to not get closer to the witch but sadly, she enters the room where the witch is at. She finds herself entering a creepy space.

Ajin tells her that she is blinded by a spell and that she isn’t in any multi-verse. However, according to Fa, she is inside a magical room but the witch watches her from within the classroom. The witch’s face is revealed but her identity is not known. The episode ends with Fa trying to break free from the illusion while the witch wears the glass-shard face mask.

Enigma Episode 2 Review

Honestly, it’s amazing to see how the director is conveying the story perfectly, given there are only 4 episodes. There aren’t any unnecessary scenes to pull the runtime of the episode. Every scene makes sense and connects well. In fact, it’s a wonder how despite it being a horror show, the subtle humour they add seems legible.

Win Metawin’s quick shift in expressions is hundred percent phenomenal. He acts clumsy and cute and instantly shifts to a dominant scary occultist. Prim on the other hand, is killing it with the brave fight she’s putting to end the witch’s mess. Both of them are having insane chemistry as well, which is a boon to this show.

Enigma is streaming on Prime Video and on YouTube. If you’ve watched the episode, let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
