Emily in Paris Season 3 Review
Emily in Paris Season 3 starts where season 2 ends. Camille breaks the pact she made with Emily and starts dating Gabriel again. Alfie is all set to go back to London. Emily decides to quit Savior and join Sylvie and others. But she hasn’t told Madeline about her decision yet.
So our girl in Paris not only has to decide about which man she wants to be with but also which boss she wants to work with. When she decides, things fall into place for some time until everything turns into a mess. Is it any different from the previous season? Not at all.
I will be gentle with my words while describing the annoyance of watching the new season of Emily in Paris on Netflix. From season 1, our protagonist Emily Cooper has been making dumb decisions. All her Paris dreams get majorly affected by a chef named Gabriel. We must believe their love story is full of challenges, so they can’t be together. The truth is they both are spineless and use other people to shield their feelings towards each other.
The makers have tried hard to show that Emily is very involved in work and her relationship with Alfie. But she is always awkward and different in front of Gabriel and vice versa. Till season 2, the series had one sane character – Mindy. However, the makers even turned Mindy into another Emily. In the third season, I saw a talented, stunning, passionate, funny and confident woman turn into a person whose life now revolves around two men!

The third season didn’t even spare Sylvie. The tough and charismatic boss lady has just started her company. But a few episodes later, even her plot becomes about the men in her life. What’s upsetting is the men, in return, are never shown that crazy or dumb in love like these women. The men in Darren Star’s series don’t take decisions based on their feelings for women.

The show is a never-ending loop of absurdity. Not a single person has shown any growth after 2 seasons. Alfie, the only sane person, is the only man who is treated badly. Camille cheats on Gabriel with another woman. But there is not much focus on how he didn’t care about her in the first few episodes because of his busy schedule. Instead, the narrative is presented such that we are made to feel sorry for Gabriel. Well, he never even loved Camille…
Lily Collins’ performance is repetitive as Emily Cooper’s. There is nothing new to her character. Ashley Park and Mindy deserve better. Lucas Bravo, as Gabriel, has big dreams and grows well in his career. But as a person, he is just like Emily, who can’t be honest. Lucien Laviscount and Alfie also deserve better.

Final Thoughts
Overall, the third trip to Paris in Emily in Paris Season 3 didn’t provide anything compelling. The show was pointless and didn’t progress from its season 1 predicament of the lead characters. It’s nothing but yet another fancily wrapped package that’s empty inside. For a show that also teased fashion as one of its main characters has nothing fashionable to captivate our minds.
The new season is now streaming on Netflix.
