Doctor Slump (닥터슬럼프) is a new Korean medical rom-com that tells the story of two intelligent individuals who have been rivals throughout their school days. However, they are soon to once again face each other when they find each other at their worst moment and decide to become a place of comfort for each other.
Directed by Oh Hyun-jong, the drama stars Park Shin-hye, Park Hyung-sik, Yoon Park, Kong Seong-ha, Jang Hye-jin, and Hyun Bong-sik, alongside other cast members. Doctor Slump takes over the JTBC’s Saturday and Sunday 22:30 time slot previously occupied by Welcome to Samdal-ri.

After an eventful drunken evening, regret surrounds Jeong-woo and Ha-neul as they decide to stay away from alcohol and each other. Following this, Ha-neul begins experiencing an anomaly at home as her mother overexerts herself to help with her depression. Meanwhile, Jeong-woo finds out that Jin-suk is ready to give his statement in court which makes him suspicious.
However, someone tries to break into his house while he is away which makes him fearful. Ha-neul asks him to stay at her house for the night and the two later get some ice cream. During this, Ha-neul gets agitated when an ambulance passes by them and Jeong-woo pulls her into making use of this time to do the things she missed out on while at school.
The evening gets fun as Jeong-woo takes her to the arcade and later tells her that while they are at rock bottom, it’s better to stay here for the time being and take the break that they deserve. The next day, Ha-neul tries to solve the situation with her severance pay while Jeong-woo overhears Ba-da telling his mother about his trial, thus, bringing Jeong-woo back to reality.
Ha-neul finds out about what has happened and begins looking into his trial. The next day, Jeong-woo leaves for his trial while Ha-neul finally finds a case similar to Jeong-woo’s. She rushes to the trial but is late and the evidence can only be presented during the next trial. Jeong-woo then takes her to his clinic to get her wound fixed and Ha-neul tries to bring his mood up by suggesting they have fun again.
Jeong-woo suggests going to watch the sunrise at the beach, but when they make their way there they find out that the rainy season has hidden the sunrise. Finding this similar to the situation in their lives the two laugh and eventually become friends from this day on.

As Jeong-woo and Ha-neul begin making new memories, the former finds out that he might be Ha-neul’s first love. This leaves Jeong-woo continuously thinking about the matter, and eventually birthing new feelings in his own heart. Finally, he decides to open up about this matter with Ha-neul, but is this really what Ha-neul wants to talk about?
