Doctor Cha Episode 2 Twitter Reactions: Fans Rejoice as Cha Jeong-suk Takes the Reins

A new Korean Drama from JTBC is here, and the fans have spoken in the Doctor Cha Episode 2 Twitter reactions. Also known as 닥터 차정숙, this series stars Uhm Jung-hwa, Kim Byung-chul, Min Wook-hyuk, Myung Se-bin, Song Ji-ho, Jo A-ram, Baek Joo-hee, Park Jun-Keum, Kim Mi-kyung, Lee Seo-yoon, So A-rin, Park Chul-min, Kimg Byung-choon, Lim Hyoung-soo and Kim Yea-eun, alongside other cast members.

This Korean Drama series is directed by Kim Dae-Jin and written by Jung Yeo-Rang. This show shows the protagonist making a lifestyle choice. After putting a pause on her medical resident career to become a homemaker, Cha Jeong-suk decides to start her training all over again when her husband, In-ho, a chief surgeon at the university hospital, cheats on her.

Well, if the last episode were any indication of what Jeong-suk was going through, we’d know that a drastic change was coming. And that wouldn’t be wrong because in this episode, she does away with whatever reluctance she had. Using her husband’s credit card, she splurges on all the things she had wanted to buy but couldn’t get before. Additionally, she also sticks it to her mother-in-law by buying the same bag she had been waiting six months for.

Now, In-ho is totally losing it. He didn’t expect the change in his wife to be so drastic. The only problem is that he is so myopic that he would have never seen the fact that she was truly exhausted from all their shenanigans. He thinks this is coming out of nowhere, so he asks his wife to take rest and recuperate. She doesn’t need to do any household chores. Taking this as an out, she completely drops everything on her family and decides to have some fun of her own.

Meeting her friend, gossiping about college and, meeting her mother, having lunch are all the things she missed, not having been married for 20 years. She was also reminiscing about the purity of the time when she could have been a doctor. One that would have been much better than In-ho. Taking this as a sign, she starts her preparation for the residency exam, which would give her the opportunity to get all the time back, doesn’t matter how late.

She prepares for the exams for three to four months continuously, buying textbooks and working from the library for so long. Once she gets her exam results, she immediately texts her son to ask him what his results are. He lets her know that he passed with flying colours and would be getting the pick of his department. Similarly, Jeong-suk also did really well and will be getting her choice of department when it comes to joining a residency program.

The duo make their way together to the interviews, and while her son seems to have done well, she gets rejected because of her advance age and her health issues with the liver transplant. The doctors are brutally honest about her situation, reminding her that she will only complete residency at 50, and that is something unacceptable for them. In this case, she comes back home dejected. Seung-hi and In-ho are really happy because that means she won’t be interfering in their lives anymore.

Meanwhile, things take a turn because when In-ho comes into work the next day, he finds his wife standing opposite his mistress taking notes for her first day of Residency. Fans are incredibly excited to see Roy Kim and Jeong-suk get together, but they’re more excited to see the kind of journey this character will take throughout the season because of her unique situation in all of this. Still biting back at In-ho’s stupidity, this episode is a lot about finding inspiration from Jeong-suk.
