Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5 was great and had a quick pace. Let’s take a closer look at the events of the 5th episode.
Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 4 Recap

In this episode, we follow Tanjiro as he continues his training journey, this time under the guidance of Tokito. From the start, Tanjiro is taken aback by Tokito’s harsh and blunt treatment of his students, giving them a reality check about their lack of talent. However, Tokito’s demeanor changes when he interacts with Tanjiro, who has become a friend after their battle in the Swordsmith Village.
Tanjiro’s training experience differs significantly from the others, not just because of their friendship but also due to Tanjiro’s natural talent. Within a few days, Tanjiro masters the basics and makes the technique his own. This training segment takes up most of the episode, and while it feels somewhat stretched, it does offer some impressive fight sequences, particularly when Tokito spars with Sanemi and Obanai.

Seeing Tokito again, especially with a smile, is heartwarming. He has grown significantly since their last encounter, and it’s refreshing to see him act his age around Tanjiro. Toward the end, Tanjiro even helps Tokito form more friendships, showcasing his influence and the bond they share.
Later, Tanjiro joins Mitsuri for his training with her.
Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5 Review and Recap

Today’s episode definitely was way better than the previous ones as this did not feel dragged on. Things start with Tanjiro going to Mitsuri for his training on his flexibility. Here, he has a great time as he already knows her, and treats are like an older sister, plus, he is also pretty flexible, which means he doesn’t need to struggle with his training. However, this is also the last place where Tanjiro would have his fun before moving on to training, which is way more challenging.
He doesn’t stay here for long, and he quickly goes to Obanai, who is constantly pissed with Tanjiro. Now there is a reason behind this, and it is because Obanai is very much in love with Mitsuri, and he hates that Tanjiro can be chummy with her, while he can not. But here again, Tanjiro undergoes harsh training and learns how to swiftly attack without being distracted by any obstacles; the obstacles being his teammates tied up.

Likewise, this is the place where Tanjiro struggled very much because of how strict and absolutely menacing Obanai is with everyone. But the most problem happens when Tanjiro moves to Sanemi where he is also joined by Zenitsu. The addition of Zenitsu was a breath of fresh air as things went from dramatic to comic within seconds. He was having the worst time of his life, and soon Tanjiro also became a part of a huge problem regarding his training with the wind hashira.
Today’s episode did not waste much time on unimportant things or details and went right into the training part and served us with significant bits only. The quick progression was definitely a surprise, but I am not complaining about it at all. The music as usual is really good, and it intensifies any action sequences, specifically, the part where Tanjiro fights relentlessly with Obanai.

Verdict
I loved today’s episode, and the conclusion made me especially excited for the next one because we will also see Inusuke. The 3 friends will be back together after a long time and train together under the tutelage of the strongest Hashira.
