– Delivery by Christmas Review Does Not Contain Spoilers –
Delivery by Christmas is a familiar tale of the holiday season and how things aren’t always the best for everyone around us, as the media would like to make you believe. Marysia is a kind-hearted delivery person whose world turns upside down thanks to a clerical error of a spiteful co-worker.
Christmas is a time for miracles, but for single mom Marysia, it’s not going that great. The movie, unlike other movies, which only focus on the good of Christmas and then some internal conflict among siblings, looks at how hard people have to work even on the best of days. And how one small act of cruelty can result in a domino effect of misfortune for everyone. However, if you look just a little closer, there is good, even in the worst of moments.
Delivery by Christmas isn’t an extraordinary or new movie by any means. If anything, it’s a rather normal look at everyday people’s Christmases and goes over the big blunders that can change the course of people’s lives, even if for a few minutes. It’s a rather calming watching, bordering on repetitive, for the most part.

However, the Christmas flick doesn’t have the charm or pizzazz that movies such as these often possess. The interactions between Marysia and Krzysztof lose the mark most of the time, and I fail to understand the point of him tagging along. Krzysztof’s character is rather dull and feels forcefully added to the mix to add some drama to our protagonist’s life. However, he’s so annoying that you get through with him after a minute or two.
The drama, unfortunately, never does reach that level of interest. Rather, it gets slower the more you watch it, leaving you feeling underwhelmed and bored. Focusing just on Marysia’s story, it never really reaches a crescendo, but maybe that’s the whole point – Christmas isn’t an out-of-the-world thing for everyone, and that’s ok.
The biggest issue I have is, in spite of not being a big and colourful Christmas movie, Delivery by Christmas showcases the same love story that we have seen a thousand times before. It starts off all of a sudden without much anticipation or reason and never really reaches that point where you want them to end up together but know that they will. It’s so awkward and weird!
Summing Up: Delivery by Christmas

Delivery by Christmas is a weirdly underwhelming movie about two individuals who are just plain boring. The extra stories are humorous to some extent, but the movie is rather dull and uneventful and feels uninteresting for the most part. By the end of it, I was left rather confused with the narrative and the point of the entire thing.
Delivery by Christmas is streaming on Netflix.
