Dasara Teaser unveiled an action-packed revenge drama film which is set to be released in the coming months. Written and directed by the debutante director Srikanth Odela, it is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the banner of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Creations. It is a Telugu-language film, set in the backdrop of Singareni coal mines near Godavarikhani of Telangana.
The cast of the film includes Nani as Dharani in the titular role, along with Keerthy Suresh as Vennela, Samuthirakani as Shivanna, Dheekshith Shetty as Suri, Shine Tom Chacko as Chinna Nambi, Sai Kumar as Rajanna, Shamna Kasim, Sajol Chowdhury and many others.
Earlier the actor had described the film as raw and rustic, something that hasn’t been explored much in Tollywood and also a personal landmark in the actor’s career. The story will follow Dharani as he steps up to save his village and the people from the ones that want to destroy it.
In the released trailer, we get introduced to the village of Veerlapalli, which is surrounded by piles of coals that one must peek through or look closely to even have a clear view of it. Along with this narration, we get the majestic visual of our lead standing in front of a huge Ravana statue, usually seen in the Dussehra festival, pointing to the title of the film.
Soon after we see our lead gulping down bottles of alcohol, as he says ‘Liquor is not an addiction for us, it is an integral part of our tradition.’ Also, breaks the same bottles on the people who enrage him. We see some people challenging him as he stands up for the people without power and gets ready to take on the whole bunch down, without caring about the consequences.
One of the most impactful scenes comes at the end, where Nani is seen laying down on the ground with a sharp knife in between his blood-stained teeth. To show his fierce determination he cuts the skin of his own thumb on the knife and put on the blood as a tilak on his forehead.
Another notable element has to be the music which gets you in the feel, despite the short duration. In the film the music is given by Santhosh Narayanan, Dasara will see cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan ISC, editing by Naveen Nooli and art direction by Avinash Kolla.
