After the success of The Lost Daughter and garnering critical praise at the Sundance for Cha Cha Real Smooth, actress Dakota Johnson is all set to expand her wings and enter the superhero universe. And with the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony too is ready to expand on its Marvel comic characters. Seems like two like minds have clicked in to give us Dakota in the role of Madame Web in the upcoming project.
Belonging to the Spider-Man Universe, Madame Web is usually depicted as a supporting character in the Spider-Man comic series. A precognitive mutant with clairvoyant ways, the character has always been of much help to the neighbourhood friendly Spidey. However, with Dakota Johnson being called in for the role, there still remains one big loophole.
In the comics, the character of Madame Web was always shown as an elderly person. But with Dakota being tapped in for the role there are two possible chances. One is that the actress will be taking on a huge chunk of prosthetics to fit the part and, the second is that the upcoming movie can serve as the origin story for the character Madame Web. Nonetheless, fans are excited to see what the actress brings to the screen in her new avatar. Let us check out the reactions!

Apart from Sony’s upcoming project, Dakota is all set to be seen in Persuasion based on the Jane Austen novel of the same name. Meanwhile, it is S.J. Clarkson who is going to direct upcoming Sony’s superhero project. You can watch Johnson’s latest film The Lost Daughter now on Netflix.
