Crimes Aaj Kal Episode 4, titled ‘Last Party,’ follows the story of five friends and a murder mystery of a fellow friend. The crime show hosted by Vikrant Massey and directed by Subbu Iyer, like Anup Soni’s Crime Patrol, dives into the criminal world where teenagers and young adults become culprits for various reasons. The Amazon miniTV series dropped the fourth episode on March 31, 2023, and every Friday, it will premiere one episode.
The series focus on real crime incidents and, with the help of actors, shows the chilling cases visually to the audience. With gore and violence packed, Crimes Aaj Kal focuses on bringing to light the backstory of the culprits and where things went wrong. The official description of the series reads,
THE SERIES IS A HOST DRIVEN ANTHOLOGY- FEATURING CASES- OF CRIMES- WHERE IN THE YOUTH- TEENAGE TO YOUNG ADULTS ARE INVOLVED. Produced by Vipul D. Shah’s Optymstix Media, each episode features a different crime story where the truth will be unraveled only at the end. Vikrant Massey starts and ends the episodes with an open-end introduction and a final moral message to take home. The episode starts with five friends, Ashima, Basant, Ronak, Sundeep, and Naina, celebrating their New Year party in Goa. Ashima and Sundeep are in a relationship, while Ronak and Naina seem to be having an on-and-off vibe. Meanwhile, Basant is trying his best to get Naina’s attention, but she is head over heels for Ronak. In the next scene, we see Naina falling off the balcony, and the crime story starts then.
The guesthouse owners find Naina’s corpse and call the cops. As soon as the investigation starts, all friends deny seeing Naina going to the balcony. Each of them share quite the same story, and hence the police conclude that due to intoxication, Naina slipped from the balcony and died. However, the autopsy report claims that Naina was strangled and then pushed off the balcony.
When the friends are arrested, a new set of stories emerge. Around 5 am, Ashima finds Basant pleading with Naina to love him, to which she replies that she is not interested. Then the angry Naina leaves to the balcony, and Ashima returns to the room. Sundeep is questioned as to why he hid that incident from the police, but he says that he didn’t want Basant to be framed for a murder he didn’t commit.

Ronak is believed as the culprit because initially, he denied coming out of his room before uttering that he did come out to seek the missing Naina. But he soon returned to his room. Meanwhile, Basant admits that he had a conversation with Naina but claims to have left that spot. With more stories coming in, the police think of an outsider coming into the spot. However, the owners confirm that there is no way for an outsider to get in since the doors are self-locked from the inside, and the extra keys are with them.
In the next scene, Ronak tells another truth about witnessing Sundeep and Naina kissing. Since Ronak pushed Naina away from him, out of rage, Naina makes out with Sundeep when Ashima is away. This directs the viewers to another incident where in the early morning, Naina goes to Sundeep’s room and forces herself on him. Sundeep tries to get her away from him, but she keeps insisting that he tells Ashima about their kiss. Ashima wakes up and finds the chaos. She figures out the truth and is heartbroken.
Ashima rushes out of the room and finds Naina on the balcony. She confronts Naina for doing such an act, to which the latter replies that just like Ronak getting bored with her, Sundeep is bored with Ashima. After hearing this, a furious Ashima chokes Naina before pushing her off the balcony. The episode comes to an end when Vikrant Massey tells the viewers that it is okay to have fun but it is best to be aware and conscious of what’s happening around you.
Crimes Aaj Kal Episode 4 Final Thoughts
The execution of the plot was neat and intriguing since, in the beginning, it very much looked like either Ronak or Basant would be the culprits. Soon the story took a U-turn and revealed a whole new truth regarding infidelity that pushed a woman to kill.
