Crime Scene The Texas Killing Fields Trailer: Uncovering The Ritualistic Killings Of Innocent Women

The trailer for the upcoming Netflix docuseries has finally dropped. Crime Scene The Texas Killing Fields will be the third installment of Netflix’s Crime Scene series. They featured investigations of Elisa Lam’s death and killer Richard Cottingham, previously in the series.

The third installment of the limited series is produced by Imagine Documentaries. It is the non-fiction division of Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment production banner. Jessica Dimmock is the director and along with Joe Berlinger, she also is the executive producer of the new documentary. With a runtime of 50-minutes, the show will have three episodes in total.

The Texas Killing Fields acquired its horrifying name for the huge amount of dead bodies found along the path of land stretching from Houston to Galveston. Approximately, around 30 dead bodies were found in the area from 1971 to 2006. Most victims were found to be women and a very less number of cases have been solved.

The limited docuseries will mainly look into the murders of Heide Villarreal-Fye, Laura Miller, Audrey Cook, and Donna Prudhomme. They were found in the same area between 1983 and 1991. They focus mainly on the background of the victims, the history of the area, and how the authorities failed to find out who the assailant is.

In the trailer, we can see the families of the victims grieving and reminiscing about the victims. They are seen to be distraught and still miserable about the fact that justice was not given to the ones they lost. But they still keep trying to find out who the killer of these gruesome murders was.

Further into the trailer, it is also shown that most of the evidence regarding the case was lost. Poor handling on the part of the authorities is also the party to be blamed for not being able to find out the killer. The trailer also shows how the killings almost felt ritualistic in the sense that each murder was done similarly. The authorities and the families of victims wonder if it was done by one killer or if there were several attackers.
