Class of 09 Episode 6 Review: Hogan’s Alley
As the name of the episode suggests, Hogan’s Alley forms one of the main storylines or segments in this episode. In Class of 09 Episode 6, we are transported back to the back when the agents were still training at the academy. It is the time when they were presented with Hogan’s Alley, a challenge that is set to help FBI recruits get a better understanding of their environment and how it is being an FBI agent in the real world.

In the series, we see that the task was presented to the class which involved the trainee rescuing hostages present in certain scenarios through the use of paintball guns. These hostages are, of course, actors hired by the academy and the paintball guns are to replicate the use of real guns to create a simulation that will present itself as a real-life challenge to the class. Teams are made and we see everyone try their bargain in this challenge with only one emerging victorious.
In the present timeline, we see Tayo and Amos on their pitch journey to convince the bureau to use AI. They lay out how the new AI system would work- it would not be blinded by the lack of visual sense and human biases and be an independent body with deep learning to detect who is a criminal and who is not. Of course, it jeopardises the concept of innocent until proven guilty but, Tayo and Amos are more focused on making sure the justice system works just right and the criminals are caught. It is a disturbing motive but, they do get a green light to use the AI for investigative purposes.

The future timeline is, however, the most devastating one Class of 09 Episode 6. One might think that after what happened in the last episode, there would be some sense knocked into Tayo to call off the use of AI immediately but, he does not. With the AI still breathing, he decides to understand what had happened. But, Poet and team know that time is less and crucial. They decide to file a case to bring down the use of AI for which they need the church footage as evidence. In the pursuit of the same, things turn bloody and unfathomable.
Class of 09 Episode 6: Final Thoughts

Class of 09 Episode 6 brings out a very important theme of the series: how human intervention is always better than letting a ‘system’ do it all. Technological advancement is good and well appreciated. It has gotten us to great heights but, in this episode, we get to see the cost one would have to pay ultimately. From the past timeline to the future, we understand why humans need to be in control and not an artificial intelligence system.

at the 3:45ish minute mark where the girl shoots the dude in the foot. That is the shittiest scene I’ve ever seen in any show ever. It was laughably bad. I don’t even understand how they allowed that to be in the show. Like.. the dude just stops and looks at her like… you’re suppose to get away now.
