Citadel Trailer: Priyanka Chopra Jonas-Richard Madden Pack Quite a Punch as Secret Agents ‘Loyal to No Nation’

The Citadel trailer has finally given us more to hold on to in the midst of our desperate anticipation for the action-packed premiere of the series slated for the month of April. Assuming their gritty roles as secret agents in the mix, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden can be seen donning the suits of uttermost devotion to their craft in the video.

Bringing about the collaboration for the ages, Priyanka and Richard will be joined by Stanley Tucci in this web of action, lies and betrayal, all of which has been concocted by the minds of the show creators – Josh Appelbaum and Bryan Oh. What makes this showdown even better is the engagement of the Russo Brothers, who are widely known for breathing life into several chapters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who have now switched lanes to step up as the executive producers of the upcoming series.

While Chopra will be helming the role of Nadia Sinh, Madden will step into the shoes of Mason Kane, and the first scene of the trailer shows them backing each other up on a mission that demands them to fight fire with fire. However, it rings in failure for their team, resulting in what looks like memory loss for the two. They meet again and try to put two and two together while demystifying their connection with each other.

Enter Stanley Tucci’s Bernard Orlick, who helps them with the deed, further revealing their identities as the members of Citadel, “a spy agency loyal to no nation”. The story rewinds and takes them back to eight years ago, when one of their own squad members double-crossed the unit, giving way to a ‘new order’. Therefore, in order to save the future, the leading duo has no choice but to remember the past by any means necessary, which ultimately makes room for more deceptions and back-stabbing manoeuvres.

Are they really in this together, or do they have furtive agendas of their own rolling up their sleeves to jumpscare the other at the last moment? More will be disclosed only when the full series, consisting six episodes, will drop on Prime Video. The premiere will be a two-episode-event and will in turn kick off the globally expansive reach of the series that will eventually break off into local branches, with the Indian edition already having confirmed Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as its leading pair.
