The third episode is written by David Weil and Melissa Glenn.
The new episode is titled ‘Infinite Shadows’. The Russo Brothers are the executive producers of the spy thriller.

Citadel Episode 3 Review & Recap
The first two episodes just briefly introduced Mason/Kyle and Nadia. After losing their memories, thanks to Bernard, the duo reunite. Sadly, Dahlia captures Bernard. While Mason is still in his Kyle mode, Nadia remembers everything. After fighting Anders, Nadia takes Mason/Kane to a Citadel safehouse in Spain.
We are taken 10 years back when Nadia saved Mason from a mission. Mason was at a facility, trying to beat down the guys who would release a deadly virus. After saving Mason, she takes him to the Citadel headquarters. That’s how they meet and have “flirty” interactions first. We discover that Nadia has been an agent for the organisation for 5 years, and her mother also worked there. Their first meet soon turns into romance in Paris, just 2 weeks later.
Cut to the present, Nadia chats with an unknown user on a computer, asking them about some package. The unknown user tells her that the package is waiting for her. Nadia tells Kyle to return to his family as Manticore is looking out for him, and they’re not safe. He refuses and mentions a sea of red and the X case. Nadia believes that will help them contact other agents, including Carter Spence. Through the latest footage, she figures out that Carter is held somewhere in Morocco.
In Morocco, Mason/Kyle meets a bad guy who is considered useful for getting the information. Through the bad guy, Mason/Kyle learns more about Citadel, especially Nadia. He now suspects Nadia of keeping secrets about several things. While all this is happening in Wyoming, Kyle’s wife, Abby, tells Bernard’s ex-wife Joe about how she met him at a hospital. Abby, who had been in a car accident 9 years ago and lost her memory, was at the same memory centre as Kyle.
Dahlia does everything she can to torture Bernard and get the crucial information she wants. It’s a conversation of many taunts and her confession of torturing Carter. Bernard refuses to reveal anything. Dahlia orders Anders to drill a hole in Bernard’s brain to extract his memory and take out the information. When Anders is about to start drilling, Bernard tells Anders that the love of his life is alive.
Citadel Episode 3 kept taking us back and forth, giving us only a little story. We still don’t have one good reason to be entangled in Mason/Kyle and Nadia’s story. The secrecy doesn’t help build any inquisitiveness. After finishing the episode, we are only provided one twist, which becomes halfway predictable, thanks to the Wyoming conversation.
Final Thoughts
Mason/Kyle and Nadia are the main characters of the show. Unfortunately, Priyanka and Richard fail to immerse us in their chemistry and performances. I want to understand the logic behind what’s happening – How are Citadel agents roaming so freely if they are under such major threats? How was Nadia so sure the safehouse was safe? If Dahlia is truly as ominous as she keeps declaring, why didn’t she bother to get hold of Bernard earlier? How did the unknown user instantly trust Nadia, despite having no contact for 8 years?
The spy thriller doesn’t have a compelling screenplay yet and has not built a good footing for its main characters. Their oblivious behaviour is affecting the script negatively, as it seems stuck. The new episode does not push the narrative and bores you with a lame twist.

The big problem with the Citadel (Amazon, Episode 3) is we’re prevented from seeing the chemistry between Madden and Chopra Jonas because the cinematographer shoots the big Paris sex scene upside down!!! No one’s done this before but it’s not a good technique. Also, Chopra Jonas is a big gal-built like a line backer. Even a bulked up Madden looks lost in her huge frame.
