Captivating the King Plot
Lee In is a prince with a caring older brother, King Lee Sun. Pledging loyalty to his brother, Lee In is taken hostage by the Qing Dynasty. Unfortunately, King Lee Sun misinterprets this loyalty as betrayal, leading to a strained relationship. Lee In suffers emotionally due to his brother’s resentment.
During his time as a hostage, Lee In encounters an unknown baduk player who captivates him with her skills. Eventually, circumstances unfold, and Lee In ascends to the throne as the king. Despite holding a powerful position, he grapples with internal sadness and vulnerability.
Kang Hee Soo, previously known as a skilled but unknown baduk player, crosses paths with Prince Lee In and falls in love with him. However, fate takes a twist as she becomes a spy with a mission for revenge. Her journey involves approaching King Lee In, adding complexities to their intertwined destinies.

The South Korean TV series episodes will air from January 21, 2024, each with a runtime of 70 minutes. Episode 7 of the series will air on February 10 on Netflix at 8:30 pm.

The King will startle Mong-woo and Myung-ha and ask them what’s going on. The King lowkey feels jealous of their friendship and wishes to know what bond they share. Since the King doesn’t even know Mong=woo’s real name but Myung-ha does, it pisses him off. Mong-woo and Myung-ha will somehow come up with a reason and evade the situation but the King will not let the thought of them being close friends fade away.
Mong-woo realises that the King is highly suspicious of them two and hence requests Myung-ha to stop seeing the Hee-soo in her and completely focus on taking the revenge. Mong-woo/Hee-soo will get closer to the King and find it hard to forget the feelings she had on him back when he wasn’t a King. The more she gets close, more people surround her as a threat.
Captivating the King Episode 6 Recap
The episode begins with the intense confrontation between Mong-woo and the King, where Mong-woo claims he hasn’t returned for revenge. The King remains skeptical and asserts his dominance, declaring himself Mong-woo’s patron. Despite the uneasy agreement, Mong-woo heads home, aware that he’s being followed by the King’s men. At home, he transitions back into Hee-soo, collapsing due to exhaustion, causing concern for her maid.
The next day, Hee-soo, disguised as Mong-woo, returns to the palace, anticipating the King’s orders. Despite the surveillance, she maneuvers through her double life. Hee-soo discusses her revenge plan with Myung-ha, who declines to join. The Queen Dowager becomes displeased with Mong-woo’s influence, fearing it will divert the King’s attention from the Queen and hinder the possibility of bearing a royal heir.
Summoned by the King for a game of Baduk, Mong-woo proposes a bet, but the game ends in a tie, leading to plans for a rematch. Meanwhile, Myung-ha discovers Hyun-bo’s return and struggles to contain his anger. When Mong-woo and Myung-ha cross paths, Myung-ha guides her to avoid meeting Hyun-bo. Despite the blossoming friendship, the King questions Myung-ha’s involvement and any potential conspiracies with Mong-woo.
The King refrains from summoning Mong-woo for the next game, and the Queen Dowager, aiming to use Mong-woo for her purposes, commands the Queen to summon him. Aware of the risks, Mong-woo assists the Queen in a clever ploy to divert the King’s suspicions. In a private conversation, the King acknowledges the ruse and warns Mong-woo about incurring the Queen Dowager’s wrath. However, he agrees to protect Mong-woo.
The story takes a turn when the Grand Prince and his sister approach Mong-woo to learn Baduk. Recognizing Myung-ha, the cousins share a warm moment. Later, Myung-ha and Mong-woo discuss the revenge plan, leading to an emotional embrace, observed by the King from a distance, marking a significant moment in the episode’s conclusion.
