Call It Love Episode 14 Recap

Call It Love episode 14 starts outside Woo-joo’s old house, and she and Dong-jin comforting each other. She tells him that since her family now knows about him, they can’t date anymore. As they part ways, both of them are devastated at where life has taken both of them. Dong-jin thinks back to Woo-joo and every moment that they have spent together on his way to his business trip, breaking down at one point thinking about her last words to him.

As one fair makes way to another, Dong-jin tries his hardest to get the house back to its rightful owners and even tries to reach out to his mother but in vain – she is nowhere to be found. Hee-ja, meanwhile, is meeting Dae-hong to get back something that she had left with him a long time back. The revelation leaves Hee-ja fuming, and she walks off in a huff. On the other hand, Nam-il gets restless while waiting to get in touch with Hee-ja.

At Best Fairs, Dong-ji shocks everyone by announcing that he wants to take some time off from work. A concerned Sun-woo asks him whether he is thinking of quitting and apologises for coming in between him and Woo-joo. Dong-jin assures him that they didn’t break up for something like that and that she had a valid reason for doing what she did.

As Dong-jin tries his best to get to the bottom of the house mystery, Woo-joo starts working with Jun at the pharmacy once again and seems as aloof as ever. She thinks back to her conversation with her mother the night he met Dong-jin for the last time and remembers her telling her that she cannot meet Dong-jin anymore regardless of what happens. In the present, Woo-joo continues to be cold to everyone and tells Jun that he should find someone else to replace her since she has started looking for other jobs.

Meanwhile, Hae-sung tells Woo-joo that they will be moving as soon as possible and even sends her a list of places to choose from. She lets her know that they need to move since Dong-jin lives close by and that if she meets him on the street, ignoring him will be extremely difficult for her. Woo-joo agrees but tells her that she wishes to meet him in some capacity. The thought annoys Hae-sung, who tells her sister that she will be moving, and if she does, Woo-joo has to come with her.

Meanwhile, in order to nurse her broken heart, Dong-jin makes his way to Dae-hong’s in order to know Hee-ja’s whereabouts. From him, Dong-jin gets his hands on Chul-min’s will and is left further heartbroken by the knowledge that his mother hid this from everyone thanks to her greed. Meanwhile, on her way back from work, Woo-joo comes across Nam-il, who shows her the recording and asks her to sue Hee-ja. However, Woo-joo asks him to stay away from them and not to do anything.

As Hae-sung finally tells Jun her feelings and that they will be moving out soon, Dong-jin finds Hee-ja at his house, and Woo-joo waits outside the Best Fairs office.

In a rather tearful turn of events, Dong-jin tells Hee-ja what she made him go through and how he endured being her son all these years. Hee-ja doesn’t really care about his feelings, as is evident in the way she is dismissive of his feelings. In the end, Dong-jin tells Hee-ja that he has the will and that he thinks she should know that before he hands it over to the family who deserves it. This perks Hee-ja up, and she is absolutely gobsmacked that he has decided to give it to them.

She tries to make him give it up, but Dong-jin firmly tells him that she has to live without the will. As he makes his way to Woo-joo’s family, Woo-joo tells Hyun-ju about the will and that she knows that if they go to the police, Dong-jin will unnecessarily suffer for something that he didn’t do. Just as she disconnects the call, imploring her mother that they can be happy without the house, she finds Dong-jin standing behind him.

That cliffhanger can just about destroy lives. What an absolutely heartbreaking turn of events – the entire storyline of both Woo-joo and Dong-jin fighting their inner urges and doing what is right in spite of it being extremely hard is something that might just inspire people, and Lee Sung-kyung and Kim Young-kwang play their roles with so much emotion and depth. Their eyes speak the heartbreak that no dialogue can even bring forth.

You’d be compelled to shed a tear for the all-around horrible situation but won’t be able to blame anyone for what they do – these are just all such broken people that you’d be compelled to cut them some slack.

All in all, I can’t wait for the last two episodes and only hope that this sad story has a happy ending.
