Bucchigiri Episode 6 Review: Arajin’s Awakening

Bucchigiri Episode 6 Review: A good episode has dropped from this unusual but entertaining anime after a long time. Read ahead to find out more.

Bucchigiri Episode 6 Overview

Bucchigiri?! is a new anime series and an original anime from MAPPA, the studio behind popular shows like Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen. It’s set to premiere this January, so it’s just around the corner!

The series is described as a return to the delinquent/Yanki genre of anime, which was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s with shows like Cromartie High School and Great Teacher Onizuka.

Under the direction of Hiroko Utsumi and the story of Taku Kishimoto, the series also consists of the musical composition of Michiru Ōshima, while character designs are by Takahiro Kagami.

The opening theme, “Sesame” by Kroi, sets the tone, and the ending theme will be Love je t’aime (らぶじゅてーむ)” by Mahiru Coda (甲田まひる).

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Bucchigiri Episode 6 Review and Recap: Courage To Fight

Bucchigiri Episode 6 Review Arajin's Awakening

This episode is certainly the most intense and promising one of all the episodes that we have seen. The episode starts with full-on action where see the two factions, Minato Kai and Siguma Squad battle it out. And the fight definitely starts with Marito and Ken. We also get a brief background as to why Marito is so hellbent on defeating Ken.

Not only that, but the fact that we see a complete revival of Arajin is something that I really did not expect. Finally, Arajin is acting like the protagonist that he is and taking things into his own hands. We see a complete transformation of his thinking and actions as he refuses to stay defeated and decides to protect the weak. Though his actions do not come from a reason that is very noble and heroic, we can still give him credit for finally starting to get his act together.

We also see a very courageous side of Mahoro, who takes charge without any care of the world. Even though she is a girl who is at a complete disadvantage in a situation where she will be overpowered, she stands her ground and manages to piss her opponent off with just words. Perhaps now she will see Arajin in a different light and be more accepting towards him.

But one thing is still not resolved, and that is the mystery behind the Honki person, Ichiya, who possesses Emperor. He has not said a word yet, and it is clear that he wants to fight with Senya. Senya, on the other hand, is also eager to meet Ichiya, but he does not disclose Ichiya’s presence to Arajin. There must be a reason behind as to why he is keeping all the information regarding Ichiya, a secret from his partner.

But just because Arajin has shown excellent bravery in this episode does not mean that we will see the same kind of activities from him in the future. This is because he does not care about anything other than Mahoro.

Verdict

Today’s episode was pretty enjoyable, and I liked it better than the other episodes. The animation went absolutely crazy, and you could feel the intensity of the fights happening on screen. Even though Emperor might use a whip, he was pretty strong, and the fact that everybody was having a difficult time with him also proves just how much more powerful Arajin can become if he merges with Senya.
