BTS’ Jimin has been making the rounds of the internet, especially since he released his first solo album, Face. During the promotion of this album, the artist was invited to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he shared numerous details about sharing his music with the band members, his favourite nickname and most of all, what he expected fans to understand from the music he has put out. Jimin is one of the vocalists and dancers from the band BTS, which has recently taken a hiatus as members have been focussing on releasing solo music and drafting for the military.
In the video, we see that fans cannot stop screaming. They are incredibly excited about his appearance on the show and almost didn’t allow the host to make his announcement. When he enters, there is a barrage of cheering and noise for his arrival. Jimin dances his way to the stage with The Roots playing music in the background. As he takes a seat, Fallon introduces the member to the audience, even though the crowds make it clear that they know exactly who is on screen.

Fallon starts off by congratulating him on the Grammy nominations and asking him if performing was something he wanted to do as a child. Since he had previously shared on the show that they really wanted a Grammy nomination, he thought it pertinent to share how he always wanted to dance and perform for an audience. He maintains that being nominated for the Grammy’s five times is because of the fans’ continued support.
The host then talks about how fans are reacting to the album and his music while highlighting that other band members are also working on their solo projects. Jimin explains that he has been in touch with the rest of the band members and continues to be friends. He has specifically mentioned J-Hope and SUGA whom he has been in touch regularly while speaking about music. He also reassures fans by adding that he has been in touch with everyone.
Before delving into detail about the album, Fallon shows a photo of a young Jimin sporting a peace sign and smiling brightly at the camera. He then asks if making music was always a thing. Jimin explains how in middle school, he found dancing, and it became a dream to perform on stage after that. The host immediately pivots to talk about how big this dream has gotten and how fans have created such familiarity that they have nicknames for him.

However, Jimin decides to have a little fun and share that Jimin Fallon is his favourite nickname amongst his others, including Mochi, ChimChim, Little Prince and Dooly. The host then goes on to talk about how amazing it was for the artist to be at the White House with President Joe Biden while also asking if the singer has been starstruck anytime. Jimin first explains how it was an honour to be there and speak to the President about how young people should be keener about the current affairs happening around the world.
The singer then jokes about meeting Jimmy Fallon made him starstruck before explaining how meeting Halsey was a pleasure for the whole band. They truly love her and her talent. This gives way for the host to talk about his album Face and what inspired it. Jimin explains how the album is about his feelings during the pandemic. He hopes that many people will relate to it when it comes out.

Fallon decides to go straight for a scoop and ask if the rest of the band members hear any of the songs before they come out, and Jimin takes it in stride by explaining that once the song is somewhat complete, he will play it for the rest of the band. When asked if he has heard anyone else’s album, he becomes guarded and answers that he’s heard just a little bit. To top it off, the host decides to get vulnerable and asks if Jimin could teach him a concert dance move, which is so hilarious that the audience and Fallon are highly entertained.
The band member came to the show and immediately won hearts. Fans are expressing how awesome it was to see him there, how he has picked up English so well to follow Jimmy Fallon and compliment the host on doing such a good job hosting this BTS band member. They are happy to see an artist like him be represented globally, especially after his album was such a huge success. Check out The Tonight Show video below.
